Hey Thorn Mononoke (series) is on Netflix you should watch that it's one of the best anime.

I watched the Super Mario Wonder Direct. I like some of the new powerups they showed off. This almost feels like a spiritual successor to Super Mario World with all the secrets this game seems to have.

I'm sure I'll get it eventually because my wife and I can have fun playing it together, but I don't think I'll get it right away.

it looks like the most recent kirby game to me. I preordered it for my daughter's 16th birthday. she loves mario games.

Yeah, I can see the Forgotten Land comparison. They both look like games that focus on the creativity of the powers your characters are given, and they're very situation dependent. It kinda reminds me of Sonic Colors in that regard, too.

TOTK: Getting close to finishing the Depths. Think my lightroot count is in the high 90s (and I'm a dummy who even though I was always unconsciously aware that the lightroots didn't correlate to the sky shrines it never connected with me to exclude them from the count of how many there would be down here until the other day). In terms of locations it's basically the Gerudo Highlands, Death Mountain, and Gerudo Desert. I basically just went to the SE corner and then worked counterclockwise and am reaching the highlands from the Rito zone now. Skipped Death Mountain for the moment because I didn't feel like dealing with the heat there. I have two pieces of flameproof armor from my surface explorations so I'm fine there I just... didn't feel like it at the time LOL. Will finish up the Highlands/miscellaneous areas I may have missed, then go to Death Mountain, and finally Gerudo Desert.

In terms of interesting things... I found two more Colgeras down here wtf. nothing makes sense any more. These two were at least in the Hebra/Rito zones so it made more sense but why are there 3 (so far) of them here lol.

How fun was it?

Genuinely not bad! I'm fine with the general combat loop of the game and taking your advice of using flying machines to just bypass climbing was A+. I could almost surely build a better one but the Liftoff Glider schematic works 90% of the time and I built a more souped up version that can fly under its own power even after the rockets give out as an Autobuild Favorite for anything tall enough that that might not be enough.

Probably helps I had hundreds and hundreds of the light seed things. Literally hit the 999 limit of the smaller ones at least twice on the surface and had to stop to offload like half of them at a shop.

But generally I just picked my starting location, set up pins to chart a path for me to hit up a wide area so I could look for bosses, with the last one usually on a new lightroot to light up using the surface shrine map to pinpoint it. Rinse and repeat. Set my scanner to Treasure Chests as well to catch any items. While most of them are just slightly bigger monster encampments it's caught a few armor pieces I must have missed the Old Map for. Also helped me notice some Yiga bases I might not have readily noticed as well.

Do I wish there was a bit more to do down here? Sure. But again, since I am freed from the shackles of Korok Seed hunting down here it's been refreshing lol.

Yeah I mostly used the big seeds because I got so many of them and sold the small seeds.

You can shoot one onto your flying machine too to save even more, heh.

I do think the Depths are a little too big yeah. If they were like 40% smaller they'd be more consistently exciting. Still a fun little diversion.

Yeah, the Brightbloom Seeds are easily the most plentiful thing in the game.

Man, it's so nice to have college football back in my life again, and it's extra nice to have a good Tennessee team to root for again. I don't know exactly how good they'll be this year, but I'll take 49-13 against a bad team as opposed to losing to bad teams like Georgia State...!

Anime: Still watching Rascal Does Not Dream... up to like Episode 7 or 8 (in the middle of the Futaba Arc) but that took a pause last night because Toonami ran an FLCL Alternative marathon and I wanted to watch it again since I hadn't since back when it debuted like 5 years ago.

Forgot how good it is. Honestly, if OG FLCL wasn't just permanently hooked up with so much nostalgia for me I think I'd say Alternative is the best FLCL pretty decisively. The OG's humor is better I think but damn Alternative still makes me cry. ;_;

We're on vacation this weekend, and we found this place where you can pay to play unlimited pinball for an hour (or all day, but I passed on that one). They have about 20 different pinball machines, including an Addams Family one I remember this local restaurant had when I was a kid, so that was a nice blast from the past.

Anime: Finished Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Senpai. I actually quite liked it! netflix redeemed. Unfortunately it seems after the first season the only continuations have been movies and neither Netflix or Amazon Prime have them, heck Amazon didn't even seem to know it existed. Don't even think Crunchy had it either not that that's an option either

I think you'd like this too, Leon, but I would not consider it an URGENT PRIORITY REC or anything.

As for next... Mac rec'd Mononoke and a perennial "finalist" in my recent Netflix decisions has been Violet Evergarden so probably one of them. But I might take another look and see if either outlet added anything in the past couple weeks before picking. I doubt it but hope springs eternal.

Monogatari is on his drop list, though. Although, I've long since forgotten why it is there.

Violet Evergarden is a great choice if you're looking for something more emotional in nature

Yeah, one of the movies is the clear ending and meant to be watched last.

Also I was scrolling Facebook and I zoomed past something that looked like a picture of Donald Trump. Out of morbid curiosity, I scrolled back up to discover that it was actually a picture of a container of Arby's curly fries. It was uncanny.

Well, assuming I pick it for next (again, odds are high, but who knows maybe one of them added like Konosuba S2 or Kaguya S3... hahaha yeah right) I'll watch the series first before worrying about movies and stuff to make sure I get that right.

Zelda: Depths exploration complete! All 120 Lightroots activated. Then just some clean-up chasing Kohga around because he couldn't have the good sense to just be a single encounter over at the Gerudo Mine. Also lol at his big reveal that Ganondorf is underneath Hyrule Castle. like duh. that's how the game started lol.

So now after who knows how long it is back to progression. Before heading to Zora's Domain though I went and collected all the Dragon's Tears. I had previously marked all the locations during exploration so I just made a pitstop to the Forgotten Shrine to take pictures of the order the hieroglyphs were on the lower level of the map floor so I could hit them up in order (I took a picture of the map itself a long time ago.) Well, Zelda got super lucky Ganondorf didn't just kill her too when he got Sonia to grab a second Tear because we'd be totally screwed then. The Master Sword tear made it abundantly clear that Zelda is the Light Dragon now (though the minute the word "draconification" came up it was only a matter of time) but then the final Tear after the glyph ones actually showed it explicitly. rip zelda. tbqh i feel like you're underestimating link here. give him a tree branch and flurry rush and ganondorf will go down like everything else.

Then I decided to go talk to Sidon since technically the objective pointer is at the Domain and not on him and he just told me to go to the Domain lol. So that's what's next on the agenda.

Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 1 complete!

They're following the book 2 plot for Perrin (although they introduced Elyas here), Nynaeve, and Egwene. I wonder if they're going to have the others tracking on book 3 (except they do need to introduce Elayne at some point).

I actually started watching Wheel of Time Season 1 mainly because I'm living with my parents temporarily and my mom was interested. (I have read the books up through part of book 10)

I heard a lot of negativity around the TV series so far but it's been solid so far as of episode 2. Really impressed with the costume and set design so far and I don't have complaints about any other aspect either.

Yeah, the production values are fantastic. Definitely can't complain about that aspect of it. I think they kinda botched the last episode and I didn't like some of the changes, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Zelda: Zora story beated. It's kinda funny that you have to go through all the early stuff to unlock the waterfall to the ruins under the Water Temple when I had already been everywhere up there via Zonai flying machines and tower launches. Do wish there was a better way to activate Sidon's ability than to be near him - like it there was a button press that would just activate it regardless of where he is. I feel like since there actually is some level of recognition of what Link has done (like if you're asked to do something and Link "replies" he's already done it) he really should just tell them actually guys I'm like 99% sure the real Zelda is a dragon and the one that attacked the Domain is a fake created by Ganondorf since he's seen the Dragon Tear Memories but oh well.

Also wrapped up all the sidequests after the fact. Funniest moment was when my Mipha shipping paid off and that one guy asked for a picture of her statue and I already had it. I did luck out that it was a night photo but lmao this guy needs to get on my level. most difficult thing was finding a zora spear. imagine my despair when i set my radar to it and it kept pinging because it counts the ones held by the guards at the domain lol.

Onwards to the Gerudo.

The worst part is accidentally activating the wrong power or activating the power when you're just trying to pick something up (so many times of having the Rito power blow items away because I accidentally triggered it lawl).

All the abilities are poorly thought out control-wise other than the Rito one imo. I basically never used them other than Rito and Goron.

I'll use the Gerudo one sometimes, but yeah, unfortunately, the Zora one is fairly useless.
