Both are very worrying but my mind is still okay whereas my body does sometimes feel like its falling apart.

But youre still yourself if your body fails you. You lose yourself if you lose your mind and thats awful.

Yeah man. It's a terrible fate. I witness it every day, and know that it could very well happen to me eventually.

Becoming completely dependent on others would drive me to suicide.

Not gunna lie.

Just feeling like a burden to loved ones....or hospital staff "tolerating" me because Im paying them for the service. And I'd be annoyed with them knowing they are sucking my entire life saving's dry just to keep me in a bed (or something).

It's basically hell on earth to become a prisoner of your own failing body/mind.

Truly sad.

Yes, my grandma had dementia, and my grandpa had severe physical limitations towards the end. The suffering was much worse for my grandma.

At least my grandpa could chill in bed and watch tv and take pain medication, but my grandma was just at the mercy of her disease and could do very little to alleviate her suffering.

It was just weird that you said "that stuff". Didnt know if you were referencing something else. Maybe related to hospice care, or the costs of medical treatment for people without dependents/families who can help take care of them.

Because it would be nice if it was illegal to just dump elderly people out on the streets if they cant afford medical treatment.

Imagine some 85 year old woman being kicked out of her hospital bed because her husband is dead, her kids are on the other side of the country, she had to sell her house to make payments, and now her bank account is dry because she can't afford the $2000 per day IVs and shit.

Si far the only person I know headed that route in my family is my great grandpa. We haven't seen any loss mentally with anyone else. Even so I'm super worried about it
