Was surprised, got a spam email in Gmail from someone from another country wanting money for their company.

The reasons I'm surprised is, I never receive spam and if I do its usually legit emails misplaced and even that is rare. If I am getting spam, not sure how it works but I assume Google don't allow them to pass. The other reason I'm surprised is, I keep a very low key presence online. I just hope this doesn't become a regular occurrence now. I'm guessing and hoping that, it just fell through the cracks and ended up receiving it.

Just nervous now as this is the first fraudulent spam email I've received on this email, I use to on my old Aol email, but was a kid back then and wasn't as nearly as cautious as I am now online.

I have gotten like one in the last 16 or so years I have had my gmail account. But I am also pretty careful about what I use that e-mail for. My Yahoo e-mail a spam haven, but I also post that on just about every site on the internet. The only thing I do with it at this point is open the inbox to delete everything once every week or two.

Are you kidding? 90% of the emails I get are spam, too much. I thought everyone had this issue.

I mostly get garbage from Indian recruiters. I got at least 5 emails this week from different people with the last name Kumar, and 3 from a Singh.

I really wish they would teach American geography in India. I think people in other countries don't realize just how big the US actually is. They keep sending me positions for poor paying tech jobs that are thousands of miles away. Yeah, like I'm going to move 1500 miles for a job that pays $15 per hour?

Mostly advertisements from fake medicines, gym programs, or insurance which I didn't sign up for. They're grammar is so bad that my younger nephew can write better.

Most of what I get now is the "I put malware on your computer and used your webcam to record you masturbating to porn - pay me $1k in Bitcoin or I'll release the videos to all of your contacts". Not sure why I've seen the uptick. I also don't have a webcam or anything on this computer that could record me.

Hell one tried it on my work email which is hilarious as why would I even try to look at porn at work?

My Yahoo email still gets one or two spam messages a week... from Yahoo saying I should upgrade their service, even after unsubscribing from their promotions multiple times. This is all the spam I get these days. Back when a certain orange menace to society was in office, I kept getting emails from a few entities claiming to be him, asking for my money, but then that stopped.

Now if only the spam calls I get every week would stop. That would be nice.

Most of these spam messages are those email receipts thanking me for purchasing some online service which I know I didn't buy - I promptly delete them.
