I'm dead serious. In my state that's perfectly acceptable. Where I live there's basically no way someone "accidentally" tried the wrong house. And if they try once, they'll try again.

You are the reason why people shouldnt be allowed guns.

One thing that even if one did scare off some home invader and then find that they invaded someone else's home later and harm or something came on the other home owners when you could have stopped it.
