I kinda like falling asleep to them

They're illegal in town, so I just sit on the deck and watch all the scofflaws blow shit up.

I just took a decent nap after putting my toddler to sleep while all the fireworks are going on .

There's none going on here.

It's pretty regular around here this time of year.
I generally don't care. My cat doesn't seem to GAF either.

I do feel bad for the dogs though.

I can hear some, but they're not that loud and I'm listening to music.

I honestly borderline hate them. At least in my neighborhood. Not just illegal fireworks that plays late hours (and it starts like 2 weeks before 4th). I got some ghetto neighbors who invite people, drink a ton and go HAM on the streets. They don't care about other people's cars. They will fucking light them up a feet away. Pretty sure someone lighted one in my roof last year. I got a dent there and the powder marks. I also got marks in the side of passengers side that I can't take out.

Doesnt bother me much, but my dogs cant stand them.

I don't mind the ones that just pop.

I hate the mortars and dynamite bits though. That stuff fucks me up pretty bad.

It's annoying. And it's been nonstop for the past 2 weeks.

They woke my fucking almost 3 year old daughter up. The shitty next door neighbors who moved in less than a year ago have fucking cannons going off. Also, they are putting a shit ton of trash in the streets and even set up a pipe in our yard right next to our mailbox. I'm going to fucking complain tomorrow if that shit is still there.

Doesn't phase me or the dogs...my cousin owns a stand down the road. I just don't like it when people ignore fire bans or even risking it when it's too dry.

I did have a guest throw a little tantrum over then. An old man stepped outside when they started(we can hear them in the distance). Then he came back in and was literally stomping his foot like a child. He looked at me and shouted "I was hoping you didn't have any of that crap here tonight!" Then he went and his wife and dog and took them outside just to demonstrate that his dog was afraid. It didn't actually look scared, looked like it was just chilling on the sidewalk. Then I got a lecture from the wife about how rude it is for us to allow their dog to be bothered like that.

My girlfriend's dog is freaking the fuck out and has pissed and took a shit on the bedroom carpet.

I understand that some do get freaked out. My old dog would too. This one was chill, just sitting there looking around and sniffing stuff. Then the owners were the ones causing problems.

But also, it's the 4th of July. You have to expect that this was a possibility, and not throw it at me for not controlling the whole town.

My first July 4th in this town and frankly I've never seen this amount of fireworks before. It went from "oh cool the neighbors are shooting some off" to "holy fuck we're surrounded by hardcore enthusiasts" to "this won't end until dawn".

As I type there is an endless thrumming of them which is pretty fascinating. But also my next door neighbor's keep going over my house and I am not sure whether I have fire insurance or not.

The whole experience does make me want to partake next year.

oh it's raining now. That'll keep the gunpowder stink down.

I understand people want to pop fireworks, but my problem with my neighbors is that they were using extremely loud fireworks. Our entire neighborhood sounded like a warzone. Plus it was late at night, and I did have to work the next day.

nervous as fuck. i had to keep my door open so she could come in and sleep on the floor (she has trouble getting onto the bed).

I love fireworks

Minor annoyance for me personally but I feel bad for the pets. They're really bad around my mom's place and she had to get anxiety meds for her dog.

I personally love them, but I understand that they cause a lot of problems for pets and like, people with PTSD, etc. so I dont ever set off any myself (occasionally we will do some of those little on-the-ground shower sparkler guys or Roman candles but I always try to make sure to avoid ones that are loud).

They look really cool, but I hate them for reasons that outweigh any fondness I have for the spectacle.

Pollution; air, ground, and water

Traumatizing; not just veterans and pets (which would be enough), but also wildlife is really fucked up by them. If it's too much it can lead to things like mother birds permanently abandoning their nests.

On a purely personal level: they scare one of my cats and cause her to hide in the basement all night. For that reason alone I would eliminate all fireworks in existence if I could.

Honestly, I hate it. I can't sleep through the absolute cannons that they launch that set off multiple car alarms every time. So I'm up until it stops and people were still fucking going at midnight. Wouldn't be so bad if it was on the weekend, but I'm at work today, running on 5 hours of sleep

Just take your dog out for a walk lol it'll see there's nothing weird going on outside and chill out.

Safety is not the concern of the Michigan Government, just look at Flint water.

Stupid, dangerous, disruptive, and unnecessary.

Freaks me out because sometimes idk if its a gunshot or not (if I don't hear the sparkles)

Especially if they occur outside a holiday.

oh you think repubs. def. want fireworks to be legal much more than democrats? yeah that might make sense.

I'm the nervous veteran who's not a fan. But I also wouldn't take it away from people. I just prefer it not to be directly overhead from my neighbors because it's a bit much.
