Fuck. I've owned this game since launch of ps4 and I only played a little (loved it but got distracted by other games).

I was literally JUST about to fully play through my copy after I finish my Diablo 4 grind.

Now I feel like I have to just wait for the remake. But I really want to play it....

There was fast travel. Maybe the underwater swimming aspect of it?

seems like an interesting place to remake a title in the series, but iirc, it's the first game past the Desmond storyline, so it makes sense to have something not dealing with all the baggage.

Well I do remember some bits where you had to sail between rocks with wonky hit detection while trying not to be spotted. That was always annoying to me. Now I'm wondering if the superboss ships will be just as glitch exploitable.

There's plenty of annoying boat travel shit in it. You would get locked out of story missions if you weren't actively upgrading your ship, stealth ship missions, etc.

I liked the game a lot less than others did. I would say I disliked the game a lot.

Maybe that's what I was thinking of. I imagine if you're going to a mission, and end up fighting massive ships and stuff on the way, only to find out you can't even do the story assassination...that'd be annoying. Now that I think about it, the fun parts I remember were usually on islands -- killing baddies, robbing plantations, etc. -- and a bit less for the boating/fort stuff.

I don't know, if you got your ship upgraded just right you could broad side the shit out of anything in your way. Hell raiding disabled ships was fun to me. It was the superboss ships in the corners of the map that made me resort to glitches to beat them after trying to do it legit

Maybe the bugginess of ship combat especially boarding?

Though AC Odyssey was way worse, reflecting on it after recently beating the game I definitely disliked all ship travel there compared to AC 4's Black Flag which was a hoot and a half. Loved the sea shanties. Enjoyed hunting whales and large ocean beasts.

But as much as I loved 4, AC games are definitely not the kind of games I'd ever replay if I still replayed games...

While I definitely despise the use of Kotaku as a source, Im actually happy to see some positive news about a Black Flag remake/remaster, even if its more akin to the remaster of 3 with all the DLCs added than an entire overhaul of the game to bring it up to modern AssCreed standards.

I'll take it but I wish they just took the game with its gameplay and redid the story so its not an assassins creed game..just strait up make it a pirate game.

It honestly felt like a pirate game with guest appearances from assassins to begin with

If it releases in 2026 it'll be 13 years after the original. Over double the length of time between Resident Evil Remake and its original

I suspect this probably is Skull and Bones, or at least what they're retooling Skull and Bones into.

I think the original still holds up well. Plus I don't trust Ubisoft not to fuck it up. Valhalla left a sour taste in my mouth with all the bugs and glitches.

It's a really good game but I have no interest in a remake.

Reminder that Ubisoft made a deal with the Singapore government where the studio developing the game gets subsidiaries for development, but now are LEGALLY OBLIGATED to release Skull n Bones or they'll get sued by the government >_>

I would have rathered a spiritual successor to Black Flag set in its own fantasy universe.

Basically I want an open world pirates of the Caribbean type game where you sail around a massive sea with heaps of areas to explore
