I had my most friends right at the end. Was a slow burn for me, MSN and other instant messaging options helped me slowly make friends with people after having basically zero at the start of 7th grade

Would chat to so many people online before I had the guts to properly talk to them in class but it eventually worked

I'd been using GameFAQs since 12 so kind of understood online communication better than my peers which helped because I was very shy in person

Probably 12th. I got more comfortable with sitting with the closest equivalent that we had to the "popular kids" group at lunch as the years went on, and I'd consider them to have been friends, but I didn't really do much more than that since they were a lot more social than I was.

Probably 5th grade, elementary school was definitely the best. High school had some parts that were okay, middle school was awful.

Senior year for sure. I was one of the only two seniors with a car. So extra cool points there.

I wasnt that popular at school because of where I was from and who my family were. Both distinct disadvantages. I had friends, but not a huge number.

When I went to college and University, it was different and I had loads of friends because I was far enough removed from those issues that nobody cared.

Never popular. Never a laughing stock or anything, as I had a few friends. But I was just kind of there. If I could go back with my current knowledge and personality, it would be way different.

Up until 4th grade or so. I wasn't very sociable, but everyone seemed to like me and I was fairly popular. Then I stopped going to school.

I've never been a very social person by my own volition, but people would always go out of their way to drag me to things. So I was always out places with friends or they were stopping over. From a little kid all through college. Now even as a grown ass man too.

As I got older, I was in this weird zone of being attractive enough for girls to like me, but not intimidatingly handsome or anything. So that helped there.

I was always a loser. I had some "friends" in middle school who ended up bullying me and would tell everybody that I rarely left the house (due to existing bullying). At the end of senior year I found out the people I ate lunch with pitied me and quoting one of them, "we let you sit with us".

It didn't help that my emotionally abusive older brother worked in town and would waste no opportunity to tell anyone in my age group that I was a loser who didn't leave the house.

[LFAQs-redacted-quote]

That's the least of it. One of them was pretty nice to me and I remember wasting time and wandering around the halls during a bathroom break. I saw him talking to this art teacher right outside the art room and waved. He didn't even wait for me to turn the corner before he flat-out told the teacher "I don't really think he has any friends...".

Probably middle school because I played school sports. I still wasn't really friends with the cool kids but I was friends with their friends and people knew who I was. I stopped playing sports, for school at least, in high school and settled in with the nerds.

Was fairly popular throughout school except for when I moved across the country and spent the majority of the fifth grade being the awkward new kid.

I had the most friends in 5th grade. Middle school got worse as my friends got too cool for me. 7th grade I had basically no friends aside from one person who I didn't really like, but needed someone to talk to.

9th grade I met my wife and nothing else mattered and still doesn't.

I think my height was around 5th grade when I first came to the States in the late 90s. I was one of the few kids with a Nintendo 64 so everyone wanted to play it.

It started out pretty great in kindergarten and I still remember most of the kids. I had a lot of friends in elementary school and did a lot of activities. Mostly nerd stuff like cub scouts, band, chorus, school plays lol.

After the 5th grade my parents divorced everything went to shit when I had to switch to a new school. It was 3 times bigger and the kids were assholes. Lost all my friends, withdrew from activities. I just stayed in my room playing video games every day after school.

Ended up joining the Spanish club in high school and that was kind of fun because we went on trips. Ended up "dating" this rich fat girl who was popular just because she was rich so I mooched off that a little bit. Can't even remember what her dad did but he always gone on business trips, only saw him like once.

Still, not nearly as good as elementary.
