It's commonly described as being a future as was envisioned in the 1950's. You have some interesting divergences from the real world like how different computers are in Fallout compared to our world. And also the use of nuclear power for almost everything. Anyway, Amazon is making a TV show. I've only read those two and Ghosts of Onyx. They were all pretty good.
