yeah, there's no difference if it's a dude from grubhub or a mail person bringing you your food lol

you still ordered food online and had it delivered

which, general grocery delivery has been around for decades, too. just people called instead of tapping a button

what you're talking about will probably happen in the next few years, if you mean more customized grocery orders. they seem to mostly deal with nonperishables, dog food, and fixed meal subscription services now in that way tho

When my wife went back to working full time we agreed that we would instacart whenever it felt convenient to remove a chore, and we have. We might go to the grocery store 60% of the time and instacart 40% of the time. Like someone said if you want to be certain that you won't get the weird produce you need to go yourself, but otherwise it's pretty slick: whatever you order almost always shows up in 90 minutes or so. She'd know how much it costs better than me, but it's on the order of $10...not bad considering gas and time and all.

So...yeah, online is here today if you're in the city/'burbs.

Yeah they all already do that. Even Doordash will do your grocery shopping for you.

I find it weird that we're now paying people on the same income tier to do shopping we don't want to do.

You can already do that is many different ways Obviously, some people like the food delivery services But you can also do groceries and stuff And you could already get certain non-perishables for a while

neither my local city of 200~ nor the neighboring city of 10k~ 30 minutes away have it, and a 10k city is definitely beyond rural

Ehhhhhh...borderline. 20K+ I'd agree. 10K...is going to be missing some things if that's the "big" city.

that's why it's defined by the government as an urban cluster instead of urban or rural

it's definitely missing a lot of things, but it's still definitely a city. my local town is literally just one street with a bunch of businesses on the sides for like, maybe a mile

We cant even get the post office to deliver the packages to the gate, I doubt that this would work. Or it might be like it is now: Everyone besides the post office having no problems with delivering here. Even Lowes, Home Depot, Sears, and Tesla have no problems delivering here!

As long as delivery is free and there's no incentive to tip. In other words, I would rather buy food on Amazon than asking any delivery services to get things for me and pay 500% the original price.
