damn, how did we manage to regress making 3D animals, be it realistic or cartoony.
Put pixar on the line, they can handle it.

Animation in general just looks worse. I think it keeps flowing from their. Like the new Tiny Toons looks worst then old one from the 90s and I can't put my finger on how. And in this case, the animation is okay..ish they just seemingly went out of their way to pick horrible models.

I'm boycotting all these shitty live action remakes because I don't want to encourage more creatively bankrupt films.

I'm sure flounder are probably just as thrilled as anything else is to be alive, just cause they look weird to us doesn't mean they are experiencing weirdness to be them

Forget the racist concerns about Ariel. That Flounder is the real travesty. Holy shit he's terrifying and the original was adorable.

Nah I seem to recall Aerial was calling him a guppy to taunt him about not wanting to explore the shipwreck at the start, like "don't be a pussy" (guppy). And he was all "I'm not a guppy.."

"live action" cgi talking fish, crabs, and eels were always going to be an absolute abomination.Especially with the gross, washed out "realistic" colors and lighting.

Sounds like your issue is with the movie itself and not the art style

Meh, there's a big difference in care put into say, the live action Sonic from the Sonic Movie (post-rework), and just slapping blue paint and teeny gloves and shoes on a real-life hedgehog.
