It couldn't be more obvious that I'm playing up a persona just to try to get some laughs but you want to think I'm not joking because you want excuses to ridicule someone you feel is inferior to you

Yeah the "joke's on you, I was only pretending to be a creep!" defense doesn't work like he thinks.

The amount of irony in saying that as a defense for not getting obvious joking around is always funny to me

I think everyone exaggerated the work conditions in Japan. It's not an Utopia obviously, but it's also far from being a Dystopian.

Ask anyone from 3rd world country, would they work in Japan and 99% will answer yes.

Well, yeah, Japan has AC in the offices, as opposed to the Cambodian sweatshop making Nikes.

Japan's work culture is allegedly improving, but back in 2015 a lot of them still felt "work-life balance" wasn't an important concern. Remember, a stereotype just starts as an exaggerated fact. And stereotypically, in Japan, "Work is life, therefore, no need for balance."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_work_environment#Working_conditions
An interesting takeaway from that is, despite the long hours, they rank badly in productivity, however. Thus telling us what we knew all along. "Take the vacation for your own sake, and unplug from work."

Wow, what insensitiveness.
You think the only work in Cambodia are sweatshops?

tbh, I dont think so lol. I was watching this dude on FB who made a series of following workers from different jobs. It all seems to be the same. They get up early as fuck, work the full 8-10 hours with a measly break somewhere. Then, for whatever reason, all the workers hang out and drink/eat at a restaurant until 9-11. Hell no

The one dude changed into a suit in the morning, just to WALK to work. Then changed into a work uniform

It is slowly improving. The stereotype is based more on the 80s than now, but it still isn't great. As for hanging out for 2 hours after work, you never got a drink after work with co-workers? But as the Wikipedia link says, it's because they foster a "family" atmosphere. Except, unlike in America, they put some effort into it beyond lip service during your hiring interview.

No, there's also being a tour guide, scrapping electronics, fishing, gem mining, rice farming, construction, and presumably, like every other nation, military and bureaucratic services.

tbh no. Maybe its me. But Im the first one out the door. Im already sprinting to my car while every one else is still changing. I want to go home to my family, or the gym, or Xbox friends. I like my work people, theyre all coming to my house tomorrow for a party in my bar. But not everyday

They work less hours than Canada, Spain, Italy, and America? That's interesting.

But yeah, this is TC's gimmick. It was painfully obvious that this isn't a serious topic lol

That's fair, and makes perfect sense to me. "I don't mind seeing you, but I have a social circle outside of you."
