My old neighbors that used to steal my food is gone.(For some reason, Door Dash used to leave it on my step instead of handing it to me even when I asked specifically to be handed) Today, some guy asked the driver if that was his food when she was approaching and she asked if he was [apartment number] and he said 'yeah' and then asked if it was [My name] and he said yeah.

She gave him all the information without even having to ask. She even told me "Well he knew his name" but the story she told suggested that she had asked him if his name was [my name]. It doesn't take a genius to figure these things out.

Comes with the territory of using delivery.

Oof. Uber Eats makes the driver get a password from the person who made the order upon delivery which helps prevent this sort of stuff.

Most places do but a lot of delivery guys don't bother since the response is "I don't fucking know" half the time

That should not be the 'territory' at all. People need to use their brain. If someone isn't in the apartment and cannot give you their apartment number or name without you having to answer for them, they're suspicious.

Wish they did that. I'm about to add "Please knock on door" onto the notes to make sure they come and knock. Instead of some dude hanging out in front of the apartment complex that might be suspicious. I think its worse is that she delivered to me before.

Stop getting delivery and just go get it yourself.

I'm pretty sure the driver stole my last order. She told me the restaurant said I cancelled the order which I did not do (which by itself is believable) but the app said she picked it up and was en route. I wasn't gonna argue with her though I'll just get my money back.

I didn't argue with the woman either. She just sat on the other side and kept saying sorry while I'm in silence while I'm keeping my cool because(I get it. Customer service is hard. I work in it) but I was waiting on her to come up with a solution. I'm a waiter so I ask if there's something I can do to fix it or mention a way to fix it. I ended up asking her if there was a way to fix it instead of hearing her apologize because I'm hungry and I have terrible patience when I'm hungry.

If I could afford a car, I would get one. Besides, even people with cars still use delivery. Although I'm aware that arguing with you is stupid. Stop trolling.

Sometimes all people need is to vent. You're offering solutions to something I never asked for. I never once said "Can someone fix this problem?" I'm also smart enough to know that I can get a vehicle but I live in a small place, have terrible anxiety, and couldn't keep up with a car note.

Yeah, some of the delivery drivers are... Not great at their jobs. Never had someone take my order, but over the weekend, my gf and I ordered pasta and a pepperoni pizza from a pizza place... They only delivered the pasta. Had to get a refund for the missing pizza >_>

Is it possible that the place didn't make the pizza? I know sometimes its not the driver's fault and they only have responsibility on what the store gives them as part of the order. Although I've had someone try to argue that something wasn't part of the order even though the receipt clearly says otherwise.

they're juts dropping it on the porch means there's no guarnatee it's delivered to the right person

I always check what the receipt says.

Sometimes it's hard to tell if the people packing the order fucked it up or if it's the driver. I usually give the benefit of the doubt to the driver.

Especially nowadays since the drivers usually hand over one large package. Mcdonalds will have one big bag with everything in it and its sealed shut. If it were opened, it was likely the driver's fault.

When they WERE dropping it off, it was during COVID and they never knocked or left confirmation. So I wouldn't even know it was there. My neighbor would just open his door and grab it and close the door.

This time some dude approached the driver and asked if it was his food and then she pretty much led the conversation so all he had to do was say "yeah" lol. She told me how it went down over the phone and I wanted to say "And nothing sounds off by any of that?" But I really don't enjoy confrontation nor like to badger people at their workplace. I'd hate for me to make that mistake and get yelled at.

I thought you couldn't change the tip with door dash after the order was placed

I don't think i've ever had to deal with that kind of thing when it used to be pizza delivery and Chinese food delivery. This feels like something new in thanks to apps that have their own drivers. I hear things about drivers that take food and throw it away because of bad tip or some shit.

They're outsourcing a lot now. Even Pizza Hut can be used on Doordash.

When I went to see my delivery driver's name to call her, there was an "add tip" feature next to it so I think you can now.

It's possible. I really hope that a pizza place, of all places, didn't forget to cook a pizza lol. Got a refund, so not too upset about. Just found it funny.

Yeah there is an option to add on another tip, plus they have some priority service (not included in DashPass) you can pay for now where you get your food quicker. It's dumb.

I tipped like 15% for a 2 mile trip and it apparently was insulting to the guy.

Meh. I just wanted my fucking lunch to show up so I could go on break. Dude can take the tip and stuff it. DoorDash is the only party that lost money in the ordeal.

I knew someone at my old job who had a dasher text him "I'm quitting today, so I'm taking your food. DoorDash will give you a full refund."
