Some dude in a community discord im in broke down how they work to me. Most of the time you pay to sign up to their page then have to pay for individual posts of content.

I thought it was like a monthly sub to a person and you just get content. He said that he was paying 10 bucks a month to a woman and then she'd dm him content and he'd have to pay anywhere from 15 bucks to 100 bucks depending on what it was. It was like 15 bucks for one picture.

I mean if you got the money to blow then I would imagine it's no big deal but that dude did not have the money to blow. Seems like a hustle to me like strip clubs.

I subscribe to girls that have everything available for just the subscription

Yeah I'd rather go to a strip club, at least then I can physically grab the titties

Some are like that yes, others are not. Either way, its not what I would call a scam since I believe sex work is as valuable as any other work

But it empowers sex workers and allows them to take control of their worth and how much they can make rather than some greedy scumbag porn studio.

It's a scam in a sense that its ridiculously overpriced like a mechanic charging you 200 bucks to replace windshield wipers.

No problem with sex work but those prices seem stupidly high.

Still a scam. He streamed his inbox and it's a breeding ground for vulnerable men to get baited into parasocial relationships for money.

Feels similar to how betting sites and casinos lure people with addictions in. Its the equivalent of saying "Just don't gamble" when these people have a condition that makes it not that easy.

These types of subjects always bring a way of thinking from people. In this topic, most are saying use will power and self control to not buy porn. You know what you're doing and what you're getting into. It's putting blame on the consumers for falling for the scam.

However, bring up another subject and people will say the complete opposite. For example, gacha games. From my experience, most people would put the blame on the gacha game for using scummy and addictive gambling tactics to scam people. It's putting blame on the product for scamming people instead of people's will power and choice.

There are some distinctions but I'd say not very strong ones. Both can be over-come with self control and with that I put the blame mostly on the consumer with both of these subjects. In OF, they can offer you some crazy stuff in DMs but when you buy them it won't be nearly what they described.

And that's where certain ones make the market. I'm sure most don't expect repeat subscribers so they'll take the initial fee even if that guy doesn't renew.

Personally, yea it's insane to me that anyone thinks pictures their private parts are worth the subscription fee and then an additional unlocking fee.

But, again, they absolutely choose the price based on their perceived value.

From what I've read, a lot of them make those low amounts of money because they hide most of the "good stuff" behind a 2nd paywall (like paying for personal photo/videos, DMs, etc.) so people subscribe for one month then cancel.

I understand OF in concept, as it presents itself as a more personal version of porn, that (for a fee) you can cater to your personal taste, but my personal taste isn't that specific that I wouldn't be able to find what I want online for free.

If anything they should do away completely with the subscription fees if they're gonna paywall everything else as well.

This subscription based world we live in is already over-saturated enough.

The guy stopped paying and when he was sharing his screen on discord the messages were very predatory. Trying to guilt trip him. A lot of stuff like "Hey baby i miss you. You dont talk to me anymore" and shit like that.

He responded saying that he couldnt afford it and the last message was "One last one baby, its worth it. You dont think im worth it". Its very predatory
