Do you have any emotional connection to them? You aren't very forward with your feelings lol

Ive seen five people stick with their loved ones when they were going through hell and watch them die (4x cancer) and 1x old age / pneumonia.

Its fucking awful to watch as an outsider and most of those cases were over a number of years. I have no idea how you can endure that sort of emotional burden for so long. I only pray I never have to go through that or if I do I am strong enough for them. I wouldnt wish it upon anyone and I completely get why someone in a two year relationship would want to drop out.

I really do think we need more adult discussions about end of life care and euthanasia because sometimes keeping someone alive just for the sake of it is cruel.

20 years ago my grandad wouldnt have made it a week but they artificially kept him alive for months before his heart finally gave out. That doesnt seem right. He wanted to die. It was torture on my poor gran who would visit him every day despite being mid 80s and not in great shape herself. It just feels inhumane.

according to statistics It is actually far more common for men to leave women who are ill, and more common for women to stay with their ill partners. regardless of statistics it is messed up to leave someone just for that though and yes I would argue it is very selfish if that person would stay with you through thick and thin but you bail at the first instance of a sickness they can't control

People can do it. As long as they can open their eyes and look around, they'll see it. They'll see the truth!

That's an interesting way to put it. Not very descriptive in a way I can work with lol

This is why shit like decisuons on Do Not Resuscitate is important or having what you want specifically done to you in case you become incapacitated and unable to make your own medical decisions are really important.

Nothing wrong with ending a relationship that's just causing pain, but she's clearly otherwise a horrible attention whore of a person who is making it all about her.

so true also why getting power of attorney and the like sorted well in advance as well is important. We applied for it six months before he died and it still hadnt come through by the time he died which made things a lot more complicated etc.
