It is very easy to fly. I assumed it would be hard so I started with all the assists on but after I got going I turned them all off and it was still easy.

Game is very cool to see stuff for a bit but after not too long just gets super boring. I crashed into my universities campus. That was kind of fun. Then stopped playing after that.

I've been wanting to check it out, but also was worried it would be too hard. I just remember playing a flight sim (with help) with a joystick back in the 90s and having fun with it, but never progressed past playing with the built in sim on Google Earth.

I tried it on Xbox for a month on the $1 gamepass bit.

It's really incredible. The mapping is incredible. The detail is incredible.

I can't speak for the accuracy of the flight controls, but there sure are buttloads of buttons in the cockpit and they all do something.

Having said that, it is a niche. I flew around some places I knew, some ones I didn't, and did the tutorials, but there isn't a ton to do except for master your craft (which is just flying a plane). I was done after that month but absolutely enjoyed it. How deep you want to go is up to you.

And yeah, they have modes all the way from noob mode up to no help at all, start in a plane at the gate and you're on your own.

Im not sure.

he was training to get his private pilot license at the time, so thats probably why he invested in the full set up.

Think its one of those situations where you can spend like $100, or well over $1000, depending on what youre looking for

I would at least like to get a flight stick with a throttle maybe (if that's what that handle is)

I put about 30 hours into it. I only did like 1 tutorial so I could figure out why my plane wouldn't move (parking brake lol) and after that it's all just sightseeing.

It's super cool but you can definitely tell which parts of the globe don't have as much satellite coverage.

Oh, and make sure to check out my favorite remote landing strip, it's called Yendegaia

It's neat. When it first released I just flew around old places I used to live to see how accurate it was and it was pretty amazing. Haven't booted it up since then even though I now have a 4090 and a VR headset so I need to get on that

I also looked into a flight stick and it seems like the cheap ones are crap and then there's a huge gap money wise to ones that aren't shit.

It's awesome and the F-15 is fucking sick, and it's free DLC.

I recommend Space Engineers over flight simulator; you make hours-long flights through space to other planets and can build like minecraft.

I still like Flight Simulator though.

What's the next best game to come out?
That's where I'm at. I got all the current pop libraries, and my whole other entire collection. but should I get this or wait for a different game coming out that I'm forgetting or should I just straight up wait for a sale either way.

I used it to passed the checkride for private pilot.

and a fun trip is to select a sealane with floats and take off from Anchorage or anywhere in Alaska. Then follow the coastline and have fun flying through the canyons extending inland.

and land anywhere theres water or a straight river.

Yes, it was a. Day one purchase for me.
It was a three hour long download.

I'm at work but I can answer questions about it.

I will say, it is one of the most amazing programs I have ever used

Did they ever fix the landmarks in DC? I remember the Washington monument being an apartment building and most of the other major buildings in that area being very generic.

I'm not sure about DC.
But I did download the NYC pack.
At first, The Crystler building looked like a box.
Now the city looks great, oddly they kept the old Empire State Building that had which was prerender...now it's one of the few buildings that looks out of place.
