Every change takes the game in a less cinematic but more realistic direction. A lot of it is a matter of taste but the atmospheric audio seems like a clear downgrade. Haven't seen the video but i agree with the sentiment. I love the original but the new one simply couldn't grab my attention, ended up dropping it at the castle because I wasn't having fun. There were a ton of 'member berries but sadly I felt the same was stuck trying to find its own voice and rethreading old ground faithfully. --- :) ... Copied to Clipboard!

I haven't seen the video but the Remake is way better than the OG The OG has a few better things: Seperate Ways/Operation Ada Better soundtrack Ada is better More cheesy with bad VA/lines The Remake is better in every other way Gameplay, menus, pacing, every non Ada character. The Remake defo has soul Almost every part of the game has cute shortcuts for a second playthrough, the shooting gallery is a blast. I'd also argue the sound design is far superior in the Remake outside of the music. Remember Armor ashley clunk with every step? The monks going "BURGH!" everytime they fired a crossbow? The only noticable cut of mention is Edit: Actually another cut of mention is that they cut out a lot of the dumb dialogue including Ramon and Saddler phoning you up to insult you over and over. Which sucks if you liked that sweet cheese. "You right hand comes off?" Every other "cut" is cut for good reason, usually pacing and replaced with something better. About 93% of the OG game is remade and exetremely faithfully. In fact I kinda think the remake would have been better if they tried a little less to keep everything from the original. The weakest part of the game is still the Island section that still drags just like the OG. You could cut a lot of Chapter 14/15 and lose nothing. Same as in OG you could cut 78% of the Island and lose nothing.

lol, I actually did watch a bit more of the video (still didn't finish it all the way, but it got to the point where I feel I seen enough), but overall the vibe I got is just "muh nostalgia" and "whatever validation I can get for not being able to play RE4 remake (for the viewers and not crowbat himself I mean. He at least played through RE4 remake. More than you can say for all the "I didn't play the game myself yet buuuut *insert stupid opinion for an entire game I did not play here* people) with most other people" the video. I can agree with the sound design comparisons since the OG team really did went out of their way with that, but that is as far as it goes. The no soul, no charisma (the fuck, lol), not as much camp! (feels like capcom isn't allowed for going with a different vibe of their choosing), and every actual gameplay complaint goes right in the trash can. Dataminers found stuff that strongly implies some of ada's side stuff is on the way so that is whatever. Yeah, the regenerators in the original are overhyped. They make a spooky noise and that's about it. They are slow as fuck and you find the thermal scope almost immediately. After that, it's shooting fish in a barrel.
