I see the argument not to include songs from media that were introduced before being acquired by Disney, and you are free to vote on those convictions, but in the end I wanted to be as inclusive as possible. One could make a stronger argument against Kingdom Hearts songs being allowed in the contest, since those video games aren't owned by Disney, but some leeway was given there due to their affiliation with Disney in the games themselves. --- Don't mind me. The main reason being that many of these songwriters and composers are not necessarily Disney employees. The best example is Star Wars itself. John Williams did compose some music for Star Wars 7-9, which were owned by Disney during their creation. So why would we allow a John Williams score from episode 9 but not a John Williams score from episode 5? Both are owned by Disney now, but one just happened to be created before the acquisition. I mean, I get the logic behind not wanting those songs included, but at the same time it's a bit arbitrary when you consider that many of these songwriters and composers are contracted in.
