Half those rule changes only went into effect in competitive games after this most recent WBC; the other half after Japan's two previous WBC victories.

Japanese ballplayers do not play differently because they know their game could theoretically end in a tie. The rules are still the same.

Also, Japan doesn't fuck with the ball every year. Manfredball changes them every year. Some years they are juiced. Some years they are anti juiced.

USA didnt bring pitching. Nick Martinez started a game for them and Nick Martinez is like 8th best pitches on the Padres.

Japan had much better pitching.

I wouldnt say Japanese baseball is better but their team this year was better.

This isn't hard. Japan still plays the rules of baseball. USA plays by a different set of rules that baseball leagues don't play.

I don't think you should make sweeping declarations on national quality based on a sample-size of one head-to-head game between inequally chosen rosters.

I know its not something you should count but I watch an anime called Major(every season. Was obsessed with it) and it seemed that pretty much Japan plays 'small ball' while America plays to hit as hard as possible.

I'm not too keen on the differences between Japan's baseball and America's baseball but I assumed that there's more tactic in play in Japan.

Japan produces fantastic players for sure, but the difference is that Japan (and Korea) gives a shit about the WBC, whereas the USA just doesn't.

Give me a playoff series with everybody giving a shit, and I'd venture a guess that the USA would be better.

Most of what you're saying is nonsense, but this is true. MLB is a pretty awful organization, but there's nothing much that can be done about that. MLB has the rich history behind it that is a big part of the appeal of baseball.

I think baseball is just naturally not going to appeal to a lot of people and that's why it'll never be America's number one sport again. But that doesn't mean they shouldn't make changes. A lot of the stuff implemented this year seems good so far.
