That 3DS/Wii U eShop closes down forever on Monday.

So if there is anything you have even the slightest interest in that can't be obtained elsewhere, you'd better get it now.

And this also includes DLC and any game updates you may have to download. Including the Welcome amiibo update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

I got whatever i wanted from the eshop or from DLC for some of my game over the past couple of years anyway.

little disappointed about not getting Dragon Quest 8 but therell be some other time for that game to be re-released again probably for the Nintendo Switch anyway

Pretty sad that there's gonna be no feasible way to play FE Fates completely for any newcomers soon.
On original hardware anyways.

Yeah, I don't have FOMO from what we're losing because everything I'd want to play is obtainable outside of that anyway.

They only released it on very limited carts that were already super expensive to begin with.

The only way to play the third path Revelations is to download it from the eShop.

There was a special edition released way back that included it, but of course, it's rare and expensive.

Yes there is. You just need the collector edition.

Dang does this mean digitally released 3ds games will just be gone for good? There was an rpg I liked a lot called Crimson Shroud but I dont think it ever had a physical release

Yep. If it wasn't released on another digital storefront, then it will be gone for good (or until the publisher decides to rerelease it elsewhere).

Guess Id better grab the couple of SMT games Im missing

$100 at launch wasn't that expensive for 3 full games.

The price for it at launch isn't the problem.....actually getting a pre-order for it was. Fire emblem was (and still is) riding on a huge hype wave coming off of awakening. That fire emblem fates special edition pre-order period did not last longer than like 30 seconds.

I managed to get in a pre-order at my local gamestop but it was one of those things where I just happened to be sitting at my PC when the pre-orders went live and so I hurried to do one of those pick-up in store pre-orders through gamestop's online store. Vast majority of other people weren't so lucky.

When it comes to the shut-down in general, just going to slap CFW on it at some point. Its extremely easy/basically just plug and everything is automatically taken care of nowadays.

For pokemon fans just make sure you get pokemon home and pay the 4.99 fee for a subscription. When the store ends that pokemon home sub will never end. Also download the pokemon transporter off of pokemon home. (The transporter is a actual seperate app, but this app can only be downloaded when you boot up pokemon home, and you have to have a subscription going to even see the option to download it. You need this stuff if you ever wanted to xfer pokemon off the 3DS pokemon games (the transporter is for getting pokemon off the DS pokemon games. Black, white, black 2, white 2) and the virtual console gameboy games to newer pokemon games on the switch).

Congrats, we were the lucky ones. There was so many attempts that all retailers had to cancel the extra pre-orders after a certain date.

I also happened to luck into a standard physical final fantasy pixel remaster pre-order off of square-enix website, but I am not going to pretend that this was too ez/too simple that anyone could have done it, lol. I just happened to be up at like 3 am eastern time browsing the boards when a poster made a topic about the pre-orders going live.

Ace Attorney games (3DS). They are $3 a piece except for Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright.

Considering how insanely easy it is to hack the 3DS now, I hope many did not waste their money on panic buying.

The only things I bought where certain things on sale. Like shovel knight treasure trove was 4.99 and I said screw it since I would like to have the 3DS version just for the 3D. Capcom also had all their stuff on sale for like 2 dollars and some change.

Nintendo's stuff is still full price so they can kick rocks. CFW all the way for that.

I got 3 on switch, i meant the two wii ports of 1 and 2. I just wonder if they might do hd ports someday in the future of those two.

well not everyone is a videogame console/handheld hacker type of person to begin with.

We get games the normal way buy buying them off the eshop or when we had the time to buy them in stores at Walmart etc.

Yet I still see other people here at gamefaqs come and whine about Nintendo shutting the 3DS eshop when these folks damn well knew they had all the time in the world to buy certain games from the past couple of years.

3 or 4 years ago i bought Yo Kai Watch 3 off of the 3DS eshop. Really didnt want or need it since i was trying to buy Dragon Quest 8 at the time where it was the same 39.99 price as Yo Kai 3 on the eshop.

Besides, Nintendo sometime will re-release Dragon Quest 8 again for the Nintendo Switch soon anyway.

Anything I'd want, I already have, and the fire-sales never really happened outside of capcom.
