This post was made exactly 40 seconds after Kirby's flip.

Now, I KNOW for a fact this is not enough time for me to make a follow up post, even if I saw kirby's flip the second it was posted.

But we also had no way of knowing how soon the flip would be posted or when to look for it. So, Do we think Sbell was furiously refreshing the page and saw kirby's flip immediately, read the flip and then wrote up this response in 40 seconds?

Or does that timing make it more like a post he had pre-written that he needed to post as soon as possible to stop anyone from counter shooting him?

Honest I find the 40 seconds hard to believe

I'll hold that everyone who posted in that earlier timeframe when I returned is probably town. So Ctes, Ben, Death, and Lea all get town points for actually being there.

It's going to sound terrible, but eh. I don't really have an answer except for that I am generally pretty passive and like to see everyone's thoughts. It's near the end of the day now, and nothing has changed so figured I'll go ahead and go with my earlier thoughts.

To Ben:

Well, typing the response out is reasonable. It's about 21 words? That can be typed fairly reasonably at a ~60WPM. But I do NOT think you could read the flip and respond in that time, at least reasonably.

Correct. I don't consider this game worth playing outside of a potential night 1 surprise, and that lone hope is keeping me going.

I actually do have something of a history of getting hostile and/or dismissive during games I feel are ill conceived. I can remember one game some years ago where I effectively suicided myself on night 4 as some absurd anti-town town power role that was so bad it put me under constant fire all game.

Oh and Chris was so pissed at me after that game that he basically wrote this wall of text insulting me after it that I never actually read. This mighta been 5 years ago, though.

I mean if that's the way you're going to react, then I really question why you signed up for an experimental game, since it seems like you're not very open to it.

Experimental games can be fun, when they're actually mafia games. Blade and Chris for example both have had a habit of including various crazy never before heard of roles in their specialty games of questionable balance, but the games themselves are still games. That is what I was expecting here.

This is not a mafia game. As soon as this game ends, I will close the book on it and never reference it in any way again. I will not take anyone else who references it in an argument in an actual future mafia game seriously.

I mentioned this before, but I think in a game where it seems clear that there are multiple Day Vigs, then there is going to be a point where having your role "verified" by making a shot probably is a good thing for you. Rather than being in end game and being sussed because it's too risky to take a shot without being very clear who is town or scum.

If I were on a scum team, and knew that everyone was a day vig (like if all of scum are day vigs as well), then I would definitely want at least one scummate to make their shot early and/or first.

Because as Ulti pointed out at that very early moment, "mistakes happen" and people won't read into it as much.

My heart has been telling me red/abacus but my heart led me astray a good bit last game. Im mainly trying to express being open to considering SBells defense in good faith. The timing of days end sucks for me

I think you answered your own question. If you act before it is common knowledge, then people may say, "They're town because they acted before it was known."

Kind of like how I think Ulti is town for coming out as strongly as he did with his claim before realizing the state of the game. It's possible Ulti had an idea of the game state and came out with a bluff knowing it would look good, I guess, so I won't 100% confirm him. But that just shows that the logic of getting out in front of the game's general knowledge looks good.

Yeah that was and still is in the back of my head
But the more I read about people being upset that Kirby died, the more the risk factor causes me to doubt.

Power is back, praise the power company. Luckily this is the slowest game of mafia so I didn't fall too far behind.

I'm aware of the arguments for lynching Sbell, what was the reasoning behind Abacus?

I had just made a shot.
I sat at my computer refreshing waiting for the flip which I assumed would be immediate with multiple hosts.

I find it interesting abacus admitted he won't shoot anyone unless asked. Maybe that's a bad move for town to leave someone in the game who is going to hold their shot till end game?
