Since it's the president, plus New York has the new laws for white collar crimes , non violent stuff that most the people get released on their own recognizance. Trump probably won't even be handcuffed doing the perp walk. The optics of handcuffing a president of the United States is too exceeding I think. Also it's a security risk So at least I guess trump will be lucky that he doesn't have to be in a jail cell. Think of it like a test run for the actual arrest. I think this is a genuine powder keg that everyone in power is concerned with diffusing at this point, and it makes a ton of sense for the majority of establishment republicans to want him gone as well for the future of their party.
