I mean sure it can sound "yucky", but it's absolutely necessary. The bill makes it a crime to talk about sexuality unless a student is between the 6th -12th grade. It also makes it easier for parents to challenge which books and topics about sexuality are being used when these classes are occurring. I guess the assumption is that knuckle draggers assume that teachers aren't smart enough to manage these discussions appropriately in the classroom so the state wants to interfere on parents behalf by using the law to make the classes more uniform across the state. --- Who is? We had our 1st SexEd class in 5th grade. Guys got the puberty talk and sex talk, girls had a different class and I don't actually know what they learned aside from the teacher stopping the video and explaining mentration in a "real world" sense. Only reason I know that is they got out 20 minutes later even though both videos were the same length. We boys got 20 minute recess while they finished up. --- Word from the wise: Don't drink the under-sink-juice. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I just dont know how something like that gets enforced. Like, if a girl asks to use the restroom and privately says to the teacher I need to go change me pad/tampon the teacher can instead send them to the principal for being insubordinate? Still sounds vague enough that they can get whomever they want in trouble just by a technicality. I dont think they were taught and elementary health lessons other than wash your hands and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Since the specifics of the bill were in the other article, just my two cents/experience - I was in 5th grade in Minnesota when I had the first (very vague) sex ed class.
