It's actually about Team RWBY and no one else, which is great because so far they've been the most "background character" main characters in any show ever. Never have their personalities shone through before like they are now, and I appreciate that.

And it's set in a Alice in Wonderland-esque fairy tale world, so it's colorful and fun, and is actually what I expected to show to look/feel like back when Monty Oum first started releasing those trailers about it.

Honestly, I don't know where the show went wrong, with it trying to make it all about boring political divisions in the cities, and Weiss's boring family, and whatever the hell is up with Salem and Ozpin. Just have wacky fairy tale shenanigans with cool fights and creative aesthetics, and you're good to go. The Ice Queendom anime basically did the same thing, by having it be in a bizarre dream world, and I thought that was great too.

No, no it's not, this is actually a justification for it's inevitable cancellation. Volume 5 was the warning shot that the show was getting worse, volumes 7 and 8 were the coup de grace in signing the show's death warrant. Volume 9 is full on "We do not give a single fuck" mode. RWBY continue to be unlikable and give unearned senses of accomplishment and entitlements, RWBY the characters are so fucked people are only interested in fucking Jaune and Neopolitan. They destroyed Monty's baby and this is how it all ends, it'd be sad if it weren't so obviously foretold. I'm just curious if RWBY will die with Roosterteeth or if Warner Brothers will keep the IP and toss Roosterteeth into the wind.

Anyone with an actual good opinion?

Their season 1 designs are still the best tbh

I've liked RWBY the whole time so I got nothing much to add except the mouse is funny and I'm interested to see if they pick up any tips on how to fight Salem.

Also I don't trust the cat.

He and Neo have become the most interesting things in the show now thanks to RT screwing everything RWBY as characters once were and utterly decimating old fan favorites so if you're a Jaune fan congrats your character is the only main character still likable even Ren and Nora have been destroyed.

Nope, the girls barely know how to use their semblances anymore Blake and Weiss espeically forgot how to fight the anime was the last official material to show what those two are capable of and Ruby is nothing but a baton spinner now. Only Yang still knows how to fight because of how easy her style is to animate for the rats RT fooled into working for them under poor conditions. i don't recommend bothering catching up if you left off at volume 3 there's not a single thing the show has done since that time to be interesting.

And is now wasting everyone's time, money and efforts with a shit justice league crossoever nobody wanted. The show is dead.2 goddamn years for volume 9 and this is the best they could do. Those crappy light novels got more positive reception than this joke of a crossoever It's baffling how badly they screwed this up

I cant speak for the newest seasons, but past seasons were pretty horribly written, the voice acting was amateur hour, the animation itself was never really that good-looking, the music was pure buttrock with an objectively mediocre singer at best, and the admittedly great action scenes that carried the show evaporated after Monty Oums passing. Couple that with Rooster Teeth being a piece of shit company not worth supporting anymore, and its a pretty easy hard pass.

The story wants you to be on the protagonists side yet the protagonists have done more damage to the world than their show's main antagonist, hell the biggest crisis the world's ever faced is a direct result of their actions rather than the antagonist's and worst part of it is they did it just because they didn't like the realistic only other scenario presented to them and the fanbase knew that scenario was all they had left, so RT being the crap writers they are, made the one who put that scenario out to be the bad guy and made them act more and more like a villain going off on stupid rants and doing stupid things and now everything is fucked with no solution whatsoever other than a sloppliy written DEM that could make things right for the protagonists who despite all of this haven't learned any humility, haven't accepted that it's their fucking faults their in this mess and still, still act like the morally high entitled stand offish assholes they've been since the show started. RWBY have not changed, it's just back then their bullshit wasn't seen as seriously damaging as it is now. Like god damn, so many people who didn't need to die are dead because of these idiots, think Tales of the Abyss but there is no self reflection or development and instead they give nonsensual speeches about how awesome they are now to a bunch of shadow selves. I don't care if only one of them is actually seemingly like they're thinking about this because Roosterteeth's shit writing will regress that character back to the same business as usual by the end of this because they don't know how to write them any other way.

How are the fight animations since the main guy died way back? I think I stopped watching around that point.

2 kingdoms are destroyed because of them as well as 2 out of 4 of the plot things being handed right to the villain because of their actions as well and despite telling everyone about this villain they've actively caused a massive refugee crisis in one of the remaining kingdoms and possibly civil war in their home kingdom the villain didn't do that, THEY did!

Why we hating on Jaune

He's just kinda annoying. I don't "hate" him, but I'd rather spend more screentime on RWBY themselves. The only member of JNPR I ever liked was Pyrrha.

How did they get two kingdoms destroyed? I don't recall it being their fault.

I admittedly don't remember much of past seasons (mainly cuz they sucked), but I feel like the kingdoms that got destroyed would've been destroyed anyway even without RWBY being there. Salem was after those relics and wouldn't let Ironwood or whoever get in her way.

Though yeah, I definitely remember RWBY making really dumb arguments as for why the adults are *wrong* and they, as the protagonists, are *right* and that led to a bunch of dumb contrived conflict.
