On cop shows they are always asking people about event that happen days are even weeks before and people always have good recall. Are people memory really that good. Or is that tv. Because if it is real...I can't remember shit and worried about CTE

I have a virtually photographic memory when it comes to the books that I study and am interested in. It has been an indispensable tool of mine as a Ph.D. candidate, and is doubtless responsible for my successes in the academic arena. Oddly, though, my short-term memory is pretty poor, with me often forgetting the names of people whom I meet ten minutes after having met them. So, I can remember the names of obscure historical and political figures who died a hundred and fifty years ago pretty easily but the names of people who are actually alive and in front of me can give me trouble
