I might get it. To whoever has that phone how you like it?

i got a regular pixel 7 after being with LG for all my previous phones and it's pretty cool. Fingerprint scanner really sucked first 2 days only seeming to work like 10-15% of the time. But I redid my fingerprint to put my thumb as all fingerprints setting it up in light and in darkness (which shouldn't be necessary) and now it works 99% of time. Still miss my audio jack and micro sd card slot though

Yeah I returned my pixel 7 and a big reason was the suck ass fingerprint reader

Just get the 7. The Pro isn't worth the extra $300

prolly the case for most people. At the moment Google, Amazon, and I think Best Buy and Target have Pixel 7 for $100 off and Pixel 7 Pro for $150 off

Unless you want the bigger screen and extra camera, youd be just as well off with the 7 I think. I have a 6a and can attest to the software being excellent. The hardware is also good, but the 7 series has important upgrades to the processor and, most importantly, the modem. Fingerprint scanner is fine. Its not as bad as people make it out to be; its just not as flawless as the rear-mounted one Pixels used to have. My success rate these days is well over 90% Id say as long as I dont miss the spot my finger is supposed to go.

Does the Pro have a bigger screen? If so it's probably worth more for me because I like watching pr0n on my phone sometimes and the bigger the screen the better. I got a Pixel 4a and it's still great but I want a back up phone just in case something happen to my precious 4a

Samsung has good trade in offs going quite frequently. Got mine for $620 I think after trading in my Note 20 Ultra and the sale they had at the time

It's so tempting now to just wait for the 8.

Besides the bigger screen, it also has more RAM, a longer battery life, and a 120hz display.

Also a telephoto camera, so if you really want to play with the camera get a Pro.

Samsung reveals in 2 weeks. Wait for that to happen then get an S21 Ultra instead when the prices drop.

The 120 hz display makes the bigger battery kind of a wash

120 chews through battery, so I imagine the non-pro will be the better performing device in terms of SOT and battery life overall

Hopefully the a version comes out soon so I can compare the models and see what's up

i redid my fingerprint IDs again (in darkness) using 1 ID each for both thumbs and both index fingers, and I would still say it's working good

How does the reader work with a screen protector?

Mine works well enough, but I still miss the back of the phone reader on my old Pixel 3. It was flawless.

In fact, there a lot of things I liked on old phones back when they came with nice features. I miss removable batteries, micro SD cards, audio jacks, and wall plugs for your USB cable. Have they ran out of things to strip away?

I mean, I get it, not everyone needs the headphone jack because of Bluetooth. But some people like better sound quality, or maybe they have an older car that only has an aux input. Some people play music on their phone and run it through a PA or sound system. Yeah the adapter exists but it's not nearly as convenient.

No, my Pixel 5a is still serving me well.

I always have a hard time feeling like earbuds are ever securely in my ear if I have to do any moving at all
