Will throw down a wishlist post for the second time this topic :)

I'm not super keen on mentioning preferences as I'm always grateful for anything, but if I could be cheeky and mention one thing, the Outer Worlds Expansion Pass would actually be wonderful as I've heard it significantly enhances the core Outer Worlds (Thank you again Steffen) experience quite a bit and I was planning to hold off on playing until I could pick it up.

It's a very cheeky (and tall) ask though, especially when you consider the sale price being almost on par with the game itself!

Man, Outer Wilds is such an amazing game! I remember starting it up and thinking... "I don't think this is the game for me." But dying in quick sand and seeing the sun explode and then waking up moments later got me hooked and I remember playing 5 hour long sessions each. I initially thought it was a fun Stardew Valley-esque game where everything is chill and you play it to relax. I didn't think it was a rabbit hole mystery that kept me hooked and devouring every single YouTube theory video out there just to feel a sense of closure.
Also the planet with the planet of the giant angler fishes and multiple dimensions where you have to track a signal and stay extremely quiet whilst maneuvering around them, it's a gaming memory that'll stick to me forever. I didn't breathe at all and the only times I did was when I was screaming for my life as giant teeth envelope around me.

Reckon the DLC will blow all our minds once again when we get to it!

Ahh, I didn't know you had yet to play it. Have to say though, it starts off really slow. Like, it doesn't even pick up until like 3 or 4 hours in. I was just about ready to not play it at all anymore but when you get to a certain part, the game just hooks you in until the very end!

I don't think that's uncommon, I have friends that have mixed them up when talking about them before due to the very similar naming.

Picked myself up a few games/DLC when the sale started, but now that It's January, decided to grab Against the Storm and Dead Estate too. Think that'll be it for my self-purchases though.

If you have PS+Extra, Outer Wilds is one of the games available to play for 'free'. Surprising number of good games in there

Agreed. This happens with the same people every sale, and I tag people every sale. 60% of the people active in these topics have given nothing this time. Some of these people do this every sale. If you really can't scrounge up $5 to contribute, over the course of several years, I don't know what to say. (You as a collective you, not picking on ProboBum)

I do feel bad about not really being able to give anythign this year since I was planning on it since I've gotten a job since the last giveaway but the whole pipes bursting last week and having to put money towards that kinda put the kibosh on it :(

Second post in here. While I am eyeing Final Fantasys 2, 3, and 5 Pixel Remasters or any of the Jackbox Party games, I am very open minded on what games I want. Anything would be appreciated.

i get where you are coming from, but some people just aren't in a very good financial situation and literally can't afford to contribute anything. heck, me and my folks didn't even exchange any gifts this year for Christmas. we've been going to three different food banks just to stay afloat. we had a nice Christmas dinner at least, but it was only possible thanks to the $100 in Vons gift cards we received from the food banks. and we owe almost 1000 bucks to my brother for having to borrow money from him just in order to make rent a couple times. i really wish i could gift people something, but i just can't. but to be fair, that's why i only posted my wishlist twice total throughout all the topics, and only was asking for one game really, though i was generously gifted a few more, all of which iirc were 5 bucks or less. the spirit of Christmas is supposed to be about helping out the less fortunate. i don't think the people who are not gifting anything are selfish or stingy or whatever. just struggling. i could be wrong though.

I wasn't in a good financial position at the moment otherwise I would have contributed. But I'll just stop now and stay silent.

Realized I was lowkey being a greed gremlin so I'm for sure gonna gift back a little something when I can. At least to @blistr and @SparkItUp since I know they for sure spent money on me. Figure I can do that much at least. Legit thankful for everything I've been given.

I might be dumb but it seems like we can't click on someone's profile to add them from their wishlist anymore. At least I had to search for their names to add people.

It's been like that for a few years, unfortunately. To get to their profile, you have to change the url from steampowered to steamcommunity.

yeah i think instituting rules like that would be going too far and would ruin the spirit. i think people just need to be realistic and hold themselves accountable. if you know you aren't going to be able to gift anything, don't ask for much and don't be a pest about posting your wishlist a bunch of times, especially after you've already received several gifts.

if you don't wanna gift something to someone because you feel they don't deserve it, that's up to you

don't try and shame people for not gifting though. Some people may be greedy but I was on hard times last year because I was laid off and inbetween jobs and my savings was about empty and this time I had an emergency come up and I sure as shit feel bad about not being able to gift aside from like two times this year but I've been asking for things because, guess what? In addition to my house problems, from my close family, I got a $15 gift card to starbucks for christmas because my family really doesn't do gifts anymore because they all decided that a few years ago for some reason, so even though I haven't been able to gift, don't try and imply that I'm being greedy because I'd like *something* this year to offset the back half of my house flooding and the ceilings and insulation and pipes and carpets having to be replaced and I don't even know how much insurance will cover because an agent still hasnt' come by so i don't know if I'm gonna have to pay for the entire thing by myself or not
