Mini Motorways $8.99 - huge fan of Mini Metro, this is made by the same people

Funnily enough, I thought you'd really like this one because I noticed you'd clocked around 30 hours into the original. Tried gifting it to you the other day and was met wtih a region restriction on it which ticked me off.

Tried looking at third-party retailers like GMG, Fanatical etc, so I could just buy it and send you the key but no dice :( If you didn't have it gifted to you or picked it up yourself before my next payday, I was actually planning to send you a gift card around then to get around it haha.

Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series!

@ArchangelBaruch
Kinda Sorta Humble Bundleish Contest (TM) !

Ooh, this could be fun. I get to justify some of the games I'm excited about ^_^

  • Nobody Saves the World + Frozen Heart DLC- ($16.24+$4)
I've had this one on my wishlist for over a year, and it's easily one of the more unique zelda-likes I've ever seen. Instead of weapons and tools, you earn transformations that you can somehow combine for weird combos. It's also made by the same team (Drinkbox) who did the Guacamelee games (awesome metroidvanias), so they definitely have a track record that can be trusted.

The DLC, according to reviews, doesn't seem to add much to the post-game, as the main component is the 2 new transformations. So to get the most out of it, it is probably best to pick up before starting the campaign.

  • TinyKin - ($20)
Another one I've had on my wishlist for over a year. Indie Pikmin is probably all that needs to be said to describe it.
The original two Pikmin games are easily at the top of my list for favorite games of all time, but having never picked up a Wii-U or Switch, I've missed out on Pikmin 3 (and will likely miss out on Pikmin 4). So I'm excited to see a new game in the same vein that isn't some cheap cash-in, but is actually getting overwhelmingly positive reviews, and on a platform I have access to.

  • Secrets of Grindea - ($15)
7.5 years. That's how long I've had this one in my wishlist. It's been in early access, slowly updating towards its main 1.0 release, and I've been patiently waiting ever since. Though through that entire time, it has not been on sale a single time. The updates on Steam have been infrequent, but the official devblog has been rather active, posting various videos and developmental news. It also looks like this could be the year that it is feature complete.
As for what the game is, it is pretty much another zelda-like, but with some extra bells and whistles, such as skill/magic leveling, town building, crafting, fishing, etc.. They've also added a rogue-like mode at some point in the development cycle that looks promising.

Total: (55.24)

Welp, contest is almost over so let's spice things up with a little minicontest of my own that I shall call the Kinda Sorta Humble Bundleish Contest (TM) !

Rules are simple: post here a list of up to 10 games from your wishlist, with a total value up to $60 (or equivalent in local monies). The person with the list that I like the most wins all their games.

- One post per person.
- Contest ends 24h from this post.
- @ me in your post so that I can keep things straight.
- Justifying your choices isn't mandatory but encouraged.
- Blatantly pandering to the indie tastes of the contest organizer is allowed. Although you can also go the cocky route and put a single AAA full price game.
i got a gift from you but if its not to late to enter

persona 4 would be nice as i plan tog et P3 portable later this month and id be nice to have the full trillogy

one step from eden wouldb e nice as i love the battle network games and this is the only game ive ever seen that copies its battle system

metal wolfe chaos because its about the president of the united states fighting a insurecction in a patrio themed super robot in a insanity that only japan could make

Fuck man. Sorry to hear that. Seriously blows. I got covid after dodging it this entire time back on Thanksgiving. Was a rough two weeks and took a while to bounce back all the way. Recommend robitussin for the cough. Just say "Fuck it" and rest up. Best thing you can do. Binge something on youtube or something. Hopefully ya just keep feeling a little bit better each day and it won't take too long to just fuck off.

Wishing you a speedy recovery mate.

I remember my bout with it, was shit but not as bad as I assumed it would be. Whatever damage it did during that period to my respirtatory system was long lasting though as I'm not quite as healthy in that region (nor are my kids or partner) since having it.

@ArchangelBaruch

wow, how generous of you! and festive! a contest within a contest. it's contestception!

lol anyway, here's my list:

Shadows Over Loathing: I'm an OG Kingdom of Loathing player, i had like 10 characters back in the day, i worked tirelessly to corner the market on Hellion Cubes by farming them with every character and by buying up all the cheap ones that i came across in player stores and then posting them back up at a higher price i set, and then buying up anyone who attempted to undercut me. i was ruthless! then they instituted a daily buying limit that players could impose on the goods in their stores and i was RUINED! lol but that was a long time ago. though still to this day, i have a KoL bumper sticker on my car that says "My other car is made of meat!" i was also gifted West of Loathing during the 2017 Winter Sale giveaway contest, by a Steam user named "prettyprincess" who it doesn't look like is on my friends list anymore and i'm not sure who that is on here, but i am eternally grateful to them, because WoL was a hilarious and very fun game, one of my favorites of all time. so when i saw Shadows Over Loathing on the Steam front store page a month or two back, i wishlisted it immediately! honestly can't wait to play this game. i will be a diehard Asymmetric fan for as long as i live.

Chained Echoes: i feel kind of bad putting this game on here because it's not discounted at all, but what can i say, this really looks like a love letter to all the formative JRPGs i played in my childhood that were instrumental in developing my taste in videogames into what it is today. i see Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Seiken Densetsu 3, Romancing SaGa 3, and others in the gameplay videos and screenshots i've seen of Chained Echoes, and from the chatter i've read about it on this board and elsewhere. it looks so good. and it's amazing to me that it was developed mainly by just one person! that's insane!

Pentiment: Josh Sawyer is my absolute favorite videogame industry personality ever, everything he's ever been a part of that i've played are all among my most favorite games ever. i still need to play the Pillars of Eternity games tbh, but those will come at some point. for now, Pentiment seems like such a wonderfully unexpected entry into his repertoire, and the way i've heard him talk about it in the interviews and podcasts i've listened to, it is such a passion project and a dream game in his eyes that i know there is no way it's gonna be anything but an amazing experience. it really feels like he has poured everything he is into it, and i definitely want to support him creatively in such a meaningful endeavor.

@ArchangelBaruch - quick conversion check gives me a value of $60 = 50.05

Only listing games on sale as I only buy games on sale myself so don't expect anybody else to pay full price for me (otherwise Return of the Obra Dinn would be at the top of my list).

Rogue Legacy 2 (16.49) - I love action platformers and roguelite/roguelikes
Hades (9.74) - As mentioned, I love roguelikes and have not heard a single bad thing about this game.
Rogue Fable III (4.31) - Old school roguelike :) Played the first two to death on Kongregate back in the day, along with the initial version of III (before work halted so the dev could fully focus on the Steam release). Love the game but also feel the dev deserves a lot more exposure for this game.
Psychonauts 2 (18.69) - If the writing is even half as good as the first, this will have me in stitches for ages. Also helps (in my eyes at least) that it's 66% off atm.

Total: 49.23 (hardest part of this was trying to work out what I'd choose without breaking the limit tbh!)

@ArchangelBaruch I guess I'll play

Elden Ring ($41.99)
Final Fantasy VI ($14.39)
Inside/Limbo bundle ($1.79)

I'm getting Elden Ring this week for sure. Been holding off for a sale because I was playing Xenoblade 3 or something when it came out and I missed that hype. I already have 11 other FF games on Steam so this will add to my collection and I wanna replay VI eventually anyway. And Inside because it was mentioned in a topic this week and it's kinda like Limbo I think. And for some reason the bundle is cheaper than the individual game so feel free to keep Limbo or give it away.

Thought about dropping Elden Ring for more games but I don't think there's $60 worth I want nearly as much.

The best thing about Stray, is that it becomes a game that you can play with your cat. Which is also a downside, because they will end up blocking a good portion of the screen

@ArchangelBaruch damn that's a cool concept for a giveaway. Might as well throw my hat in the ring.

Vampire Survivors ($3.99) - A lot of my favorite and most played games over the past few years (Hades, Stardew Valley, freaking Disco Elysium) came from learning about them here. This is the big takeaway from this year's giveaway as I've seen a lot of praise for this and I've never really heard of it prior. Checked it out and the reviews and seems like something I'd love to play.

Dead by Daylight - Killer Expansion Pack ($17.99) - This is my most wanted since I've been hooked on DBD and love the variety in killers. Due to formerly having shit internet, I never really got into any online multiplayer games. At most I put in a handful of hours into Splatoon or Rocket League, but now I'm starting to really see the appeal. I love maining Hillbilly and I've been putting in some hours as Michael Myers and Ghostface this past week, but would love to just have a whole ass ton of killers to fuck around with.

Cuphead - The Delicious Last Course ($6.79) - I banged my head against the wall for a good number of hours with Cuphead when it came out. Maybe it's just good ol' masochism, but I do love torturing myself sometimes and this seems like a fine way to suffer and have fun. Mostly suffer, but at least it'll be satisfying to beat.

Inscryption ($11.99) - I actually don't know much about this game since my friend told me to straight up avoid spoilers and go in blind. It had a cool trailer and I know it's a card game, but beyond that I don't know squat. I trust the recommendation though and look forward to going in cold.

The Binding of Issac: Rebirth ($7.49) - I played the original base Binding of Issac a few years back and it was pretty damn fun. I liked the tone of the whole thing and the challenge. Gotten more into roguelikes since then and for sure want to try this full version. Been on my list for a couple of years. I can see sinking my teeth into this for sure. Total timesink which I could absolutely go for right now.

Overboard! ($7.49) - Like Vampire Survivors, this is one I've only heard about through these topics. It sounded pretty interesting and looking into it? Yeah. Totally something I can see myself having fun with. The base concept of just trying to get away with a murder by picking different decisions and paths is solid enough, but it sounds like it has a good chunk of variety and replayability.

Later Alligator ($7.19) - This shit just looks cute. I heard this game talked about on a podcast a while back and I added it to my wishlist. It seems pretty funny and charming, so I imagine it's a good time.

That's my list. Was actually fun putting it together and writing it up. Always like a good amount of variety in the games I play, so I like having a few different ones in there than what I'm used to playing.

Dang. Those sound exactly like flu symptoms and the symptoms I've got. Though it feels like I've only got one or two days left to go before I'm fully recovered. Ah what the hell, I'd be stupid if I didn't participate in the @ArchangelBaruch contest, so here's my entry.

Mark of the Ninja (7.99)
Devil May Cry 5 Deluxe + Vergil (19.99)
Rune Factory 5 (29.99)

Total: 57.97

Mark of the Ninja is one of the most polished ninja games ever made. It's a very easy game to pick up and play and even more fun to master, and the Saturday morning cartoon-esque cutscenes are a joy to look at.

Devil May Cry 5 needs no introduction, it's easily one of the best action games ever made. Would be an excellent addition to anyone's PC game library.

Rune Factory 5 is a super chill fantasy farming sim where you can tame monsters to help out with your farm and go on dungeon crawling adventures with the villagers you befriend. Switch version runs like booty, so it'd be cool to experience a version of this game that isn't poorly optimized, it's just a little expensive for me right now. Also I would've just loaded up my list with a bunch of cheap games otherwise and I didn't really want to do that.

Hey there, so long story short. We are planning a trip to Europe in September, neither my wife or I have ever been across the pond nor do we ever go anywhere like this...she hasn't even been on a plane.

Point is, it's a huge deal for us, so I've been facing an epic battle of keeping extra purchases low, very very low. How I do this is keeping my steam purchases below $10-ish. That's great for my will power, but terrible for games like

Nightmare Reaper. I'm an old school fps fan, and this demo was amazing. Problem is, it's $17.39 Canadian, so it doesn't fit my rule!

Resident Evil 8. I've managed to get every other Resident evil game on pc...except 8. It's $24.99 Canadian and that puts it even higher above my rule! A true outrage. I have a quest 2 and this has a VR mod, I hope by the time I can get it, that VR mod isn't taken down.

Lastly, Raft, on sale for a whopping $14. 73. I love water based games like Subnautica, I love crafting games like...subnautica....Raft looks like a great time to me, but again, that's over $10 so whats a guy to do ya know?

So yea, that's my list. I was even whining about Raft a few pages ago here. I broke my $10 limit getting EDF 5 for myself for Xmas, so no more above $10-ish (edf is wonderful)

Either way, I appreciate what you're doing here! It's fantastic. It's fun reading others lists and posts with their picks too. Just hopefully not as fun as it was reading mine haha

Wild ARMs is still the best JRPG series in my opinion and we desperately need a new game in the series!

I have two games on my list

Faith trilogy 11.99
Gloomwood 15.99

I like horror indie retro games. Thats all

Welp, looks like I got the Covid, y'all. 3 Years of not being sick has finally caught up with me

tested positive this morning. so far I've got sinus congestion, throat congestion, headache, fatigue, and coughing. But I've taken Mucinex and Tylenol which has made me feel a lot better, but still pretty tired. Took the rest of the day off work (I primarily work from home)

@ArchAngelBaruch

Two Point Campus($31.99) plus the Space Academy DLC($9.99) would be great.

Couple hours left? Might as well throw this up one more time then.

Capcom Pro Tour 2016 dlc for SF5 sure would hit the spot. Main Balrog and the boxing ring stage is sexy AF.

Hope you can find the time to enjoy such an experience.

Apparently it was up for several nominations last year on best game.

And not to sound mental or anything, but cats are alien camcorders. :P
