I know personally, I find it extremely easy to focus and dwell on the negatives, and that gets to be a habit.

So, lets make discussing positive things a habit, too.

What are you thankful about, right now? Whats something youre looking forward to? What happy thoughts are you having? Whats something you were dreading, that actually turned out to be quite good? Is there something youre proud of?

Please feel free to discuss any old thing, as long as its positive and friendly. I believe in you, CE.

You aren't even really reading my posts; you're just staring at your e-mail client and fondly reminiscing about that hobo you stabbed to death. :P

I'm pushing 40 but went back to school this fall. Aced all 5 classes, all A's, and should be able to officially apply and get accepted to the social work program. So looking forward to that. It's never too late.

I'm excited for Christmas for the first time in a while, my nieces and nephews lived with us for years, and their dad is a deadbeat, so I try to be there multiple times a week to visit. Oldest one has had his eye on this bike, pretty pricey, and has been told that it's a big ask and too expensive for Christmas this year, which is the case, mom is on a strict budget.

So I bought it for him, it's in the shed here, he has no idea, thinking there's zero chance he's getting it, his mom doesn't even know. I think i'm gonna let them open presents here and then tell him I may have an old bike in the shed if he wants to go look and see if he can find it, and wait for the reaction.

I got a pretty wicked bonus this year also, it was not a subscription to the jelly of the month club though.

To be honest, that's fucking awesome. Being a miserable prick is far too easy.

I'm overflowing with love for my girlfriend. There was about a month plus where we didn't see each other because I kept getting sick (she's immunocompromised and really cautious, as she should be) and then *she* got sick (UTI), but we finally got back to seeing each other last week, and it's different.

We talked a lot about our relationship in our time apart, about how we both want to be partners and get married, and shit's different now. She touches me more, and she holds or squeezes. One time yesterday, she wrapped one arm around me, pulled me in a little and nuzzled against me while rubbing my tummy with her other hand, it was great. We were video-chatting with a friend of mine who lives cross-country (we all laughed a ton, it was great), and I was in a shorter chair than her(rendering me temporarily the shorter), so I spontaneously put my head on her shoulder and she wrapped an arm around me and stroked my cheek.

She also helped me get my studs out, and walked me through putting earrings on. It was magical to share that bit of euphoria with her.

She also bitched about this dude she's seeing (it's a poly thing) and how impractical and unreasonable he is, after talking about how grounded I am and how I have my shit together (well, at least one of us thinks so!). Like, she's been with me almost the entire time I've been out of the closet. She was the first person to call me a sexy woman. I never want this to end.

Next week is her birthday, so I bought a ticket to a digital Faye Webster concert and we're going to watch that together. Or, at least, listen to it.

While I personally could not handle a poly relationship, I am nonetheless incredibly happy for you. She sounds like a real keeper, and hearing about your relationship gives me the warm and squidgies.

While I can't honestly say that I would rather hang out with Current Events than my own family, I would nonetheless be happy having a beer with more than a few of you at a mutually convenient time.

Giving gifts is definitely the best part of Christmas! As with Christmas as so with some types of exploit, it is far better to give than receive.

You tell me? Would the people you're giving it to like it? We're not going to judge you. Whatever works for you and yours.

What are you thankful about, right now? I get two and a half weeks off from work for Christmas!

Whats something youre looking forward to? I'm about to go play ultimate frisbee followed by an overnight gaming party with my ol' high school besties!

What happy thoughts are you having? Last week may have been a dumpster fire, but I handled it well, and now I get to have a couple weeks of pure joy. I'm really excited to give my family their Christmas gifts.

Whats something you were dreading, that actually turned out to be quite good? There was a meeting last week that I was a bit on edge about, but it ended up going well.

Is there something youre proud of?
I got all my Christmas shopping done relatively early, and I'm happy with the gifts I got everyone. Like I mentioned above, I took care of things at work well too.

Thank you for making this thread, TC; it's good practice to focus on the positives!
