So more like a selfless selfish way to spend it.

Ex:
I would go around too middle school and high schools around my city thousands of steam decks giving them to every kid who wanted one.

Yes I would be selflessly giving away consoles but I would also be spreading the love of Gaben.

Build and invest into businesses in or around my city to stimulate the economy overtime. I considered building schools since most were shut down in my city but I'll probabaly wait a few years or so for that and see where the demand is.

In this regard even a billion dollars isn't enough to uplift any city so you have to play it slow and smart.

I would go to a border town, by a fuckton of land, buy a bunch of metal containers, convert them to homes, and rent them (and by "rent" I mean you pay for utilities and pay a very small amount for the building and land) to people (including undocumented immigrants) and turn it into a gated community. No cops allowed with out a warrant. A sanctuary plaza with low cost housing, and ICE can go fuck itself.

I would build affordable housing near city centers that would serve all levels of income below the MFI for the city and is of high quality. The people that live and work within cities can't afford to live there anymore, and every day I'm writing a new article about how little affordable housing we have as the land development process just becomes more complicated, expensive and slower. Housing is something I at least know a little bit about and care about, so that's what I'd go with.

I would fund cancer research. Likely other charities, too, but cancer would be a huge focus of mine. I'm a survivor, but I've lost family to it. There's a local charity that assists people with their diagnosis, provides groups, some financial assistance, etc. They would probably faint with how much money I would give them. I'd like to do it without anyone knowing it was me, too, if possible. They helped me so much, connected me with fabulous resources, and are staffed by some of the greatest people I've ever met.

i was treated at the Shriner's Hospital for Children in Sacramento for my scoliosis when i was a kid completely for free even though my parents had no insurance and were low-income, and i will be eternally grateful for that, but I have always had a bad taste left in my mouth about how they cut you loose entirely as soon as you turn 18. i know their mission statement is specifically about treating children for free and all that, and that's great, but i really think they should have some sort of adult aftercare program where they would be able to check in on your progress every 2-3 years or so and coordinate with and advise other medical professionals you might need to be seeing. i would want to set up an endowment for them to establish such a program.
