But he doesn't. The hallmark of the character is that despite his continous plans, contingencies, and strategems, they either all go wrong or are constantly thwarted. It's only the internet meme crowd that routinely fails to take notice of this fact and just assumes Batman is some sort of planning god that lords over others. If you pay attention to his stories, the man's life is filled with failure after failure. You don't think he plans for stuff to always go wrong and his closest confidants to be brutalized and despise him over and over again, do you?
