I know for competition etc m+k is preferred, but what if youre only playing the single player campaign? Buttons like sprint, crouch, grenade, weapon wheel, etc all being tied to the keyboard seems like itd be tough for my hand to navigate.

And mouse+keyboard is only the preferred way to play for FPS games and simulations like CIV and stuff, right? Controller for third person games and whatnot?

I'm used to controller play.

I use a controller for everything. The only PC games that don't let me use a controller are the Age of Empires games and KotOR 1.

I prefer a controller

I wouldve expected everyone to swear by mouse+keyboard

I've never played an FPS with mouse/keyboard. I've also never been a PC Gamer

Makes no difference to me because I always have to adjust sensitivity and bindings anyway.

If we're talking about comfort, obviously laying down on a couch or bed is a superior relaxing experience to just sitting at a desk

There are very few FPS games I would play with a controller, Borderlands is one of them.

Mouse/Keyboard

I use mouse and keyboard for most things.

Controller I mostly use for console style RPGs, or games that need fine movement control like racing, sports, or certain action games (such as Dark Souls).

KB&M for FPS. NOTHING comes close on how better shooters are with that as opposed to a controller.

KB/M >>>>>>>> Gyro controller >> standard controller

KB+M for just about everything

Neither are really essential. It's all preference. I built a gaming PC, but I grew up playing mostly consoles, so I still prefer controllers.

I use controller for everything EXCEPT FPS. Always Keyboard and Mouse for FPS.

I can play using M+K, but I strongly prefer a controller whenever possible, mostly because M+K upsets my CTS (carpal tunnel syndrome). I've had it in both arms now for years.

Can't stand using a keyboard for anything.

I personally love mouse and keyboard but I don't game on PC anymore so I use a controller. I mostly just really like how intuitive a mouse is for looking around and aiming
