Corsair generally has pretty good quality standards

True story. I originally ordered a cyber power at a great price from best buy. Figured if psu was shit I'd just return it. Was impossible to get that info up front... One rep told me "electricity" when I asked her what power supply it uses. I picked it up yesterday and... Glass panel was completely shattered. So back it went.

Is this your first hard core gaming pc?

64gb ddr5 5600
2 tb m.2 (I'll see if I can get a second one in black Friday)
Nope. First build was an athalon x2 machine. This is my 4th gaming pc (5th if you count my legion laptop). It's the first prebuilt I've gotten though. My time is a lot more valuable now and the price was only $150 markup over cost of parts so between that and how hard it is to find parts in stock prebuilt just made more sense this time.

You realize you could have paid a fraction of that and got similar performance, right?

Nah. I use a 3440x1440 144hz screen. So it needs a lot of power to get to those frames. And now it'll actually make sense to turn on rt. Also have an hp reverb g2 headset which will put it to use.

I can promise you as soon as you get that pc your going to have to replace the case, and probably get a much better cpu cooler. Back when I got my 2070 Super prebuilt from Cyberpower they fucked up the build royally. Cooling was done horribly.

Its from corsair. So they use their own case and aio cooler.

still double check the insides when you get it. A lot of times shipping companies don't know how to properly ship IT packages so things get dislodged. Double check the fans and make sure none of the cables or parts came loose.

As long as your willing to null a warranty, I almost always suggest digging into the machine yourself, and if you aren't go to a general pc repair shop and get them to do it for you. Mine added their own warranty in replacement.

Knowing what parts are in your machine, and if they are working will save you a ton of stress in the future.

I didn't need a 16 GB RTX 3080 in this laptop but it was there and I wanted it.

Although personally I wouldn't get more than 32 GB of system RAM unless I did content creation and stuff.

Also while yes i9 wont give any gains over i7 for gaming I will get a benefit for things like video processing and 3d modeling. And for gaming, the i9 outperforms more expensive ryzen chips so I dont feel bad about the price.

5'10"... or 9", depending on what you mean by big

Have a gaming rig now but I'm holding off on the MW2 campaign till the new one comes. So probably that first. Then some Ashes of the Singularity, since thats a game that really makes use of CPU power. Then probably set up my HP reverb g2 vr headset that I havent touched since I beat HL Alyx. From there... probably just a lot of MW2 MP until stalker2 comes out.

Nah, all it needs is a little WD40

hey man, if you have the disposable income, get what you want. I didnt pay off all my student loans just to buy mid tier computers. You do you! Like I said, I cant justify going out of my way to buy the highest wattage RTX 3080 laptop, but I could afford it (and my employer paid for it as a business expense lolololololol)

My legion 5 is honestly fantastic. Has a hybrid mode to shut off dedicated GPU when not gaming so work battery life isnt terrible. Thermals are excellent. It's quiet and feels well built. First gaming laptop I thought was good enough for day to day work use that I was comfortable with buying.

It kind of gives off a vibe of being a professional work laptop, in terms of design aesthetic and the keyboard. I like that a lot. A more mature gaming laptop for an older crowd.

Thats rockstar's fault. Not the PS5. The remasters were garbage. I can guarantee that mostly any ps5 exclusive games coming out in 2023 will have top tier best graphics that can match a $4000 PC. And even if the graphics of such ps5 game was a tiny bit less than the PC, that small boost in graphics isn't worth an extra $3500

Are you gonna plug that bad boy into a 15-20 dollar 'ups' from office depot and cry when it can't handle the raw unbridled power. Then threaten to sue?

Totally a reference to an actual product review, where someone's 3-5k dollar beast of a gaming rig kept shutting off because it was plugged into a cheap battery powerstrip that wasn't rated for that output.

That's the next thing I need to figure out. I have an 825watt Cyberpower UPS, which in theory might not be able to handle peak power draw. I want to get a double conversion UPS but there arent many that go up to 1000w.

Just get a line interactive UPS then as those can recognize and mitigate brown-out situations faster than it can ever pose an issue for PCs and usually will do so before the voltage sags below the level required for proper operation.

Only reason to ever get an online UPS is if certain equipment doesn't respond well to sudden power loses for even a few milliseconds which is never an issue with Corsair PSUs which have a hold-up time several times the typical UPS switchover (usually 4-8ms).
