I might be looking for a new open world game

Personally, it didnt do much for me. The monster design is nice, but the open world felt way too restrictive and it fell into the same problem most open worlds have of having way too cluttered of a map.

Im looking for something to scratch the itch like Elden Ring did.

It's more of a Ubisoft open world than something like BotW/Elden Ring.

Map is littered with shit for you to collect and do and a lot of it is tedious.

Any decent open world games?

Dying Light 1 if you want to frantically run and parkour from fast infected zombies

I enjoyed traveling around on mounts and fighting enemies that kicked my ass, only to make the proper equipment and beat them with ease.

Couldn't give two shits about the story tho

Its a very mediocre game imo, typical Ubisoft style open world busywork with a bad story & robot dinosaur hunting gimmick.

One thing I liked about the game however is that all the side content is entirely optional, like you dont need to grind them to level up or whatever

It's alright. I liked the combat but there are a ton of collectibles lettering the map. If you can ignore that stuff it's worth playing.

It's much better

HZD- Better story, characters, exploration, graphics, and gameplay.
BOTW- Replayability and better music.

It's all subjective though at least when it comes to exploration and gameplay.

HZD is the better game in terms of 1-2 playthroughs. BOTW is the better game in terms of longevity.

If you're looking for something that's more gameplay and difficulty oriented with little story then BOTW would be the better option.
