The community mostly only acknowledges the reaction to provocation, and don't care about the provocation itself. I've never seen anything like this in any community before. It's pretty crazy.

Also this is the ONLY community where it encourages you to just carry trolls and griefers.

Valorant has basically the same community but they are on mics...and it is more irritating because unlike League most games are very winnable at any point yet these babies want to give up at any mild inconvenience.

That is quite the claim. I admit I don't have any real experience with the PC side of online gaming communities, but the console side has definitely seen it's fair share of absolute dumpster fire of communities. Party chat becoming a thing on the xbox 360 in like two weeks or so after gears of war 2 was seen as a godsend back then just because of how shit a lot of it was lol.

Overwatch is the type of community that was equally shitty no matter where it was played, so I can get something like that being called shit.

*On the opposite side, to me it always felt like smaller online rpg games (your phantasy stars, monster hunters, something like champions of norrath, etc) and smaller mmos had the best communities. Phantasy star online's was great (PKers thanks to stuff like gamesharks/code breakers etc aside), and city of heroes/villains also had a overall great one throughout it's life.*

I'm not just talking about the in-game experience. You go to the reddit communities, the LoL board right here and other similar places and they're exactly what I described. Trust me, I use to post a lot on the LoL board.

If you just skim off the top, PC has the best communities for fan art, insider information, game guides, and just about everything you can imagine. I just haven't found one where I can really get invested as a player, like I do with like local gaming (tabletop, retro, etc). It's like they don't want you to actually be interested lol

..... Local gaming can suffer from a bit of that as well, but online it's amped up to 11

In short, multiplayer sucks

If you're put into a dependent role, yeah. Some of the more passive things, like the bloodstains and messages in the Dark Souls games, can be fun. The first time you see an apparition of another player traversing through a secret wall is always a kick too.

Dark Souls also did a lot to ensure its multiplayer was far from standard, including a lack of voice chat, and attaching it to a largely single-player experience. There's a reason Souls took the world by storm. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would say something since I'm such a Souls fan ^.^

That, and CoD:Zombies are on my mind rn
