It absolutely blew me away in the first game and they really upped it in the second. The movement system is totally revolutionary to me but there are no other games doing it. I just imagine a Farcry or Metro game where you can jump around and run across rooftops. Or an open world Dark Messiah with parkour. I know it's probably a hard system to perfect but Techland wasn't exactly the biggest studio when they made the first game. Someone has to copy this.

Its better tbh. Once you get max stamina and free running, the movement is bar none compared to any other game.

parkour is being trained by hobbyists right now so the level of athleticism to copy dying light parkour is just not here yet. yes there are people that make money off the sport and are pros but they aren't training like athletes at an elite level. unlikely for any of the current parkourists to be on PEDs either.

also climbing is definitely one of the weakest aspects of parkour right now as a result of the community focusing more on jumps, tricks, flips,vaults, etc... there are a handful of more climbing focused parkour athletes but based on reactions from climbing forums they are nothing really special. altho toby segar is considered at least pretty good for someone without a climbing background and is currently practicing formal climbing on rock walls and stuff.

Not parkour, but movement in Rage 2 with all the perks is a friggin blastat least during combat. It just might be your thing if you havent played. Can get it for a buck nowadays. Maybebut not much more on sale, for sure.

Man, as far as fun movement, Anthem just might reign supreme for me still.

I agree, but it felt great as a late game power up. You had already mastered all the moves and now you can just zip around. Still a ton of fun.

Somehow the story is even worse. I completely zone out during every dialogue sequence. But the core gameplay loop is phenomenal. The combat is pretty much identical and the movement starts out the same but grows a good bit from there. I just got to the second map and it's like a completely different game with how you move around.

Yeah, the night is a lot more gamey, and waaaay less dark. Night in the first game was fucking terrifying. Also, those god damn screamers ruin everything.

I love Dying Light. Didn't care for Dead Island. I really can't believe they are made by the same company. I was disappointed in Dying Light 2 but I'm doing a second play through and I'm enjoying it much more than the first time.
