Anyone that votes Republican nowadays willfully hates this country.

The bill received overwhelming bipartisan support, with 49 Republicans being the only lawmakers who voted against the introduction of an Office of Food Security at the Department of Veterans Affairs, some of whom are military veterans themselves.

Republicans don't care about veterans, they care about the oil their blood and sweat secures.

Exactly because of that once they are a veteran they are no longer valuable

It would be against the ToS to say that any of these individuals should find themselves in a situation where they are unable to get food and starve to death, so I most definitely will not be saying that.

All the usual suspects except for Boebert.

Josh Hawley's also not on the list, to my surprise. I guess even that slimeball can get it right once in a while.

I brought this up to a coworker, who thinks Republicans can do no wrong, and asked why they would vote "no" on something like this. She said "Well, there was obviously something in the bill they didn't like, and were smart to vote against it."

So I asked, "What about the 158 Republicans that voted for the Bill? Did they just get duped into agreeing to a bad Bill?"

And she just huffed and walked away.

If I had to guess, this is what the 49 voted Nay:

(c) Annual Report On Food Insecurity. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs, in consultation with the Secretary of Agriculture, shall submit to the Committees on Veterans Affairs of the Senate and House of Representatives an annual report on veteran food insecurity. Each such report shall include data on the following:

(1) The socioeconomic and racial characteristics of veterans experiencing food insecurity, disaggregated by State in which the veteran is located, racial or ethnic group, gender, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

(2) Native American veterans experiencing food insecurity.

Because when they say "Support the Troops", they really mean "Support the Straight, White, Christian, Troops" and don't want to believe that other Troops exist.
