Nobody comes to Current Events as a three-day-old user in the year of our dog 2022. Nobody. This is not an obvious, hot hub, easily found, tip-top of the pulse of the Internet board. This is a board of old people, myself included.

This community has long recognized what a "new user" complaining about being treated is: a user who got banned who is coming back with a new account.

I can't speak for CE at large, but I personally reserve the right to think less of users who get banned on this site. I further reserve the right to think even further less of users who get banned, come back with another account, and continue on their bullshit, while claiming to be no one in particular.

Either own your identity as someone returning to the site, or come back as a different account and make it an actual fresh start. At least try to pretend like you haven't been here for years.

the answer to your topic title is yes, but also, that's not really a bad thing. just keep posting and enjoying whatever it is you enjoy about this god forsaken place.

also you can edit your posts in 1-2 weeks and access most boards in 3 weeks, i think at 3 weeks you can also upload pictures. that's 3 weeks of logging in daily btw.

I mean, yeah, egg on my face. I shouldn't have done that. But., people are acting like this is some obscure board. I'm like baffled by this. I've been posting on various sub-forums. I literally see Current Events and assume it's an off-topic board. You guys make it like this is some impossible task for a new person to find.

It's just so weird. I don't really understand the shunning of new people. So, what just let gamefaqs die because new people are all just liars? Kinda make's me regret coming. But, at least, it's not a MAGA board.

This is why I don't understand. Do people coming to this site have some sort of unawareness of other boards? Do people just plain not visit other boards on gamefaqs? There's plenty of interesting sub-forums.

I dunno, I tend to treat new accounts as new users(that claim to be so at least) even if I dont actually think they are, just makes this place more interesting then be grouchy about it
