They had personality and charm.

I actually had a Taco Bell that had that old-school look until this spring. They knocked it down and rebuilt as the modern generic garbage. Sucks.

I miss Taco Bell from the 70s and early 80s. Back when they made it look like a California mission and had stone benches. It didn't feel as corporate either.

Yah. Main reason they abandoned that style for the box was so they could put in drive thrus.

There also used to be Taco Bells that were only a kitchen and a window. You ordered and ate outside. If it rained, you were shit out of luck. You would then have to take your meal somewhere dry to eat.
