truth. i saw someone else mention that they've already said they're going to do another, but i didn't confirm it. it's not really out of character, though.

today's was the first since spring, and the first "big" one since last year (which was marketed as the "last" one)

three new special seeds. a few dozen new blocks. a few hundred new items. i thought they said there was a new boss, but i don't see it in the patch notes, so maybe not.

yep. i would almost always default to using drunk worlds, since i liked having all the ores and both corruptions handy. will probably do the same with that one, now.

edit: maybe not. it's got the stupid hunger mechanic.

From 10 years ago? No a lot more is different.

10 years ago the boss progression stopped at the mechanicals.

They added somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 new biomes since then (snow, ice cave, crimson, temple, granite, marble, underground desert, beehive), TONS of new bosses (planters, golem, fishron, etc) new invasion events (pirates, solar eclipse, etc) crossover collabs (dungeon defenders, don't starve), journey mode, expert mode, master mode, bazillions of new items, new NPCs, etc.

Huh, I'll have to try it again then. It's also been roughly like 10 years since I last played.

There's a new seed where you start in the underworld and the game gets progressively harder the higher up you go. Sounds pretty cool.

It's cool the game basically gave devs enough money to work on it ad infinity

I just bought it for switch, any idea when it comes out for consoles?

I only use my pc version for mods, so Im not very tempted to get the latest patch for that. At least not for a long while and a lot of mods are updated.

it was planned to be all versions at the same time, but people were saying the console versions might have been a little delayed. the wiki makes it look like they should all be up now, though. (all the ones that still get updates, anyway.)

played off and on all day, but didn't really accomplish anything. dug some stuff, built some stuff, but didn't really make any progress. i think i'm going to just start over again tomorrow and be a little more active, and save the terraforming for later.

Hmm, do I need a new seed/world gen for this?

I literally just started building a new world two days ago lol, guess I could rapidly progress another one but I was just making mine homey

yes to try the new special seeds, i don't think so otherwise. easy test should be to try to stack a block over 1000.

Its out on switch, lol decided to actually close the game and restart it and it downloaded.

decided to look through the wiki a bit, and i am so happy.

one of my only complaints about the game has been solved.

The Aether biome / Shimmer crafting allows for a ton of item conversions, but the exciting ones are background walls for the previously fixed biomes. it's now possible to move and expand the dungeon, temple, underground desert, and spider caves =)

Been trying to play it but it's just constant crashing and losing progress

The Don't Dig Up seed is a neat idea and would have been fun to play

My boi was goin off about this past weekend. was the first thing to briefly pull him away from Splatoon 3.

Playing a Zenith seed, ran into a mushroom biome with some statues wired up that got activated all at once in lava. Neverending undead vikings, skeletons and 5+ medusa + random bat spawns all at once is a lot of fun when you've only defeated the eye. There's also a new kind of trap that will give you trust issues.
