There are only two people who can answer that question. Yourself or your relation to someone else being negative from your drinking.

If you're really worried about it, might be time to slow down and at least figure out why you feel that way......

Look less at how much you drink and more at how drinking effects your life.

Has your drinking damaged your health, happiness, your job, your relationships, that sort of thing?

That's some fertile soil for problems down the line.

Like, as of right now you are probably not in danger, but worrying about your drinking is typically a sign that you should look at your drinking habits.

I drink everyday just to relax, usually about 2 or 3 bottles a day until I feel a little buzz then I stop. Not sure if that effects my health or not, don't really drink the hardcore stuff so I just stick to light beer.

This. At the very least you're flirting with addiction. And that's the step before full addiction

This. At the very least you're flirting with addiction. And that's the step people fall on before full addiction.

I remember when people in my teen years use to always be like "I only smoke cigarettes when I drink". And even at that age, in my head and sometimes to their face Id always go "Yeah. That's what you say right before becoming fully addicted".

You also have it on the sidelines for you to rely on when something dramatically depressing happens on your life. That might be when you start using it to the point of full on addiction. Alcohol addiction seems ways worse than my opioid addiction >_>
It is worse. Because it's EVERYWHERE.

My grandmother has been sober 38 years in October.

Never blacking out or getting a hangover can be moreso a sign you have built up a tolerance from drinking too much. I have seen people who have been 4 times the limit to drive who appeared completely sober and normal due to the high tolerance they have built up. Thus, it isn't the best indication of whether you are an alcoholic.

I am a bit wary of the fact you said you are lazy and clinically depressed while also your drug of choice is also a depressant. Tbqh.

Oh, most definitely. Your grandma sounds like a OG. Overcoming Grandma.

But yeah. I listen to hip hop tho. And most of them have pill addictions or are on the verge of getting pill addictions >_>.

First let us define Binge drinking:

But what is excessive drinking? There are two types:
  1. Heavy Drinking: For men under age 65, heavy drinking means having two drinks a day, or more than 14 drinks in a week. For women and men over age 65, heavy drinking is more than one drink a day, or more than seven drinks in a week.
  2. Binge Drinking: Binge drinking refers to consuming a large amount of alcohol at one time. For men, its defined as five or more drinks within 2 hours. For women, its four or more drinks in that same time frame.

I would say, you could easily fit into this subgroup:

Young Adult Subtype
Individuals in the young adult subtype make up 31% of people addicted to alcohol in the U.S. They drink less frequently than the other subtypes, but when they do drink, theyre likely to overdo it and binge. They typically come from families with low rates of alcoholism.

I hate this thought. Drinking by yourself doesn't make you an alcoholic.

IMO drinking by yourself is just in inviting trouble. And I'm not talking about having a drink with food or having a beer to settle down. I mean having either multiple beers or multiple servings of liquor with yourself. It seems too easy to fall into a hole where you medicate yourself with alcohol and no one is next to you, telling you to slow down.
