They're the planets automated defense system to stop man from poluting the planet. Onxy, Diamond and Ultima? Attack cities, murder everyone, destroy all means of industrial and commicial intercourse. Emerald? Swim around in circles. Ruby? Bury your ugly head underground in the middle of a desert and wait until this whole thing blows over. Emerald sounds like a dumbass and Ruby sounds like a massive coward. I don't know if it is translated differently for other world regions, but Sapphire is what it is called in the US version. There is no Onyx. The 7 weapons through FF7 media US name wise are: Sapphire Diamond Ultimate Ruby Emerald Jade Omega As for why Ruby and Emerald seem to suck at their job compared to the other weapons? The answer is simple. The two were not in the original Japanese version of the game so they are not actually incorporated into the story to do anything. The US and PAL versions added them as extra super bosses and stuck them on the map. The FMVs were altered to show them launching, but there was no story made for them. ... Copied to Clipboard!
