Wasnt that the whole lie that they told to crank up prices? Grocery prices, if anything, are actually still going UP in my city. Stuff that cost $5 now costs $9 and this adds up when you get to the checkout. They tried to charge me more than $10 for a bag of grapes the other day!

Ive had to put things back and actually choose between food or stuff like shampoo or cleaning products. Now the stores are cracking down on security because people werent scanning everything at the checkout (since they couldnt afford it). They have signs that say use barcode on produce!! Those are because you can do item lookup and select a more fairly priced version of what you want.

Why is nobody talking about this? Everyone just shrugs their shoulders and pays the price.

Why would they?

Just a theory. Grocery stores are known for razor thin profits. This might be their time to shine and squeeze us.

Well, when you realize that grocery monopolies like Kroger are essentially owned by the McConnell family, you start to see why the government is allowing them to raise prices unchecked. You also realize why they refuse to talk about it. Kroger charges $9 for stuff that Walmart charges $5 for, but everyone gets on your case if you go in Walmart because you cant effing afford to shop at Whole Foods.

I've never really noticed anything cheaper at Walmart than Kroger.

The Stacys Pita Chips are cheaper there, but tbh, not much else. It just shows me that if Walmart can turn a profit selling it for $6, Kroger has absolutely no excuse to upcharge it to $9. Thats price gauging, not inflation, and nobody is telling them to stop.

I usually buy all my frozen fish from Kroger because they actually give a better price per pound.

Kroger prices are reasonable. Not Aldi cheap, but much better than Publix.

Diesel prices haven't gone down by much. Just exactly which type of fuel do you think the transportation industry uses?

Those prices are now the floor. Since the demand for those items is still there.

Gas has not gone down in California, it has only gone up. It is up by almost $1.

Gas prices may have gone, but they are still higher than this time last year.

Gas prices only dropped temporalily due to the reserves being opened. They are going back up now.

I don't think I've ever seen prices of items at the grocery store go down (not counting coupons).
