More so than you would other months of the year?

If so, what ya'll got planned for the upcoming month?

Nope. The most I'll do is go to a theme park for their Halloween event. Don't really care about Halloween (or horror) beyond that.

We usually do a watch of Shaun of the Dead and Monster Squad, last year we watched through that Haunting of Hill House during the month.

Probably gonna watch that Dahmer series this year and find a campy comedy horror or something. I've never read a horror book outside of RL Stein as a teen.

I partake in the yearly pilgrimage. That is completing the initial objective of every TF2 Halloween contract and bagging a load of hats/miscs. There were 33 last year, more to come this year. We even have our own lore for some of the halloween maps and wacky people we encountered.

This year in preparation, I haven't played a game all month in order to preserve my game playing energy and I uninstalled Payday 2 as a sacrifice to hasten the coming of Scream Fortress.

Nothing else though. Last year I no-sold Halloween because I found a game I liked so much I played it for 43 hours straight and skipped right through the whole of Halloween. Probably not going to be even 1% as lucky this year.

You should totally show them Ernest Scared Stupid. It's sad that kids these days probably have no idea who Ernest is.

I've been watching horror weekly on a Discord group, so I expect that to continue into October.

On my own though I've just been slogging along trying to get through the rest of Stranger Things. Only on season 2 >_>

A little bit more. That stuff is always in the rotation tho.

Not really. Horror is a genre I never liked much. Most of it is packed with cheap jump scares and excessive violence to make up for the generic story.

Not to say there are no unique horror stories out there, but most of it slots into onen or two of a few worn out archetypes.

That's a damn fine idea, I loved those movies when I was a kid.

It's year-round for me. Lovely-dovey, feel-good stories are not for me.

...any excuse to watch the Blacula films again is always a good one.

This. Halloween is the GOAT holiday.

Yep. Finally saw insidious while I had covid. Gonna watch 2 and 3 and the vhs movies and trick 'r treat for the who knows how manieth time then try to find other new recs.

If RE Village drops on sale at some point i'll grab it and play it also, been waiting for it to hit half price or so.

Nope, could not care less about Halloween.

I played it last year and like it a lot.

There's some DLC coming out soon, so I might replay it.

I watch evil dead and play a few horror games but that's it

What novels and games?

I've been purposefully saving horror movies that I bought in August and September to watch them in October.

I just watch em when I want to. Sometimes it coincides with Fall, often its quite random.

I even pregame in September by watching and reading suspense/thriller movies & books.

Yeah, usually castlevania stuff. Order of Ecclasia is my go-to.

I'm thinking of getting more into those kinda games.

I just finished Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night earlier this week and it was pretty fun. I've never played a Castlevania game though. I may check out SotN.

Yah, and its only in October except maybe a rare occasion once or twice in other month. Not a fan of horror movies but it just makes everything feel right in October.

I'll watch two movies at some point this month. And for anyone wondering the movies are one is Ricky-Oh: The Story of Ricky, and the other is Strangeland.

Thats on our list every October. Weve seen them all, and sometimes it pains me to say no to Scared Stupid because I like to save it till October.

I might finally play through REmake. I haven't decided exactly what books to read, I'll likely just randomly select from my backlog.
