Definitely one of those just one more rematch type games.

OTK everywhere, its no fun.

I dropped it after the Pendulum shit was introduced. I just stick with Magic nowadays for my TCG fix. And once in a while, Pokemon.

Ive never played the Pokmon card game (even though Ive amassed quite a few cards over the years). Ive gotta give it a try some time.

I'm going to go to the gaming store tomorrow and buy a bunch of random Yu-Gi-Oh packs and throw them into a deck haphazardly and play a friend who does the same thing

Or maybe just pull some random cards out of the ones in boxes in the closet in the spare room

Yet that new card feel is so nice...

Usually a deck centered around Ritual Of The Gishki. But I like to mix it up sometimes with decks based on the anime (usually Mako Tsunamis cuz I like water themes (hence Gishki))

There is a single player mode you can play to learn its basic rules, how to play certain archetype, and collect items.

This. MTG suffers from serious problems as well.

I literally never got the appeal of Yu-Gi-Oh, played base set in middle school and dropped it less than 6 months in.

Branded Despia is the newest strong meta deck, but it's not as common as you'd expect because it takes a fuckton of UR cards to build and some people just didn't have the resources for it. Adventure and Floowandereeze are still good, but with Enchantress going from 2 to 1 in the next banlist at the end of the month and Pot Of Prosperity limited to 1 in the previous banlist, neither one is as consistent as it was before.

Ben-Kei OTK has existed for over 15 years though. It merely saw a resurgence in Master Duel as a deck that was cheap to build and could quickly farm event points. It either wins quickly by OTK or loses quickly by surrendering to a single negate or being forced to go first.
