I have every character and unlocked all of their jobs for everyone. About halfway through doing all the chapter 2s. It's a little grindy but I did play the first two Bravely games so I'm used to grindy Square Enix games.

Anyway, it's good. Cyrus best boy.

Make sure you do the side quest to fight the super boss after completing everyones final chapter, because I feel that is the only thing that really ties everything together. I get the point was to experience eight separate stories however you want, but Im very much looking forward to the sequel having story connection chapters with the characters.

Depends on how it's done. Suikoden 3 was super hyped for this but there was only like one long story when the other two had shorter stories before they all teamed up.

I kept wanting to play it, but Playstation never appeared on the list. Now Xbox isn't on 2's list. I wish they'd stop that bullshit.

it's well known that sony pays publishers to not release on xbox

xbox got sick of it and is taking away call of duty from them, which, for some reason, amounted to like 70% of playstation revenue for the last few years

Yeah well, that's recent years. Back when it started, it was Microsoft who paid EA for 60fps in Madden and exclusivity on Oblivion. One of their execs even bragged about pay offs on a Game Informer article around that time.

Then of course all the Xbots were claiming it was because the cell processor was too hard to code for. And the following years debunked that with equivalent and superior cross-platform titles on PS3

But for anyone who remembers the PS3 vs 360 wars at the time, it's pointless to debate it. It only causes I saw grown-ass men in Best Buy in a scuffle over the goddam consoles. I think there's also video of it somewhere.

It's a top 5 RPG IMO.

(but I don't care at all about story. Gameplay is everything and Octopath has it)

and exclusivity on Oblivion.

?

it was on ps3

morrowind was the only console elder scrolls on one platform, and it was specifically only because the original xbox was just a pc

and even then, they had to literally hack and exploit the system to get morrowind to work on it.

like every loading screen? that's the xbox restarting. the ps2 or gamecube legitimately could not run morrowind

and even then some more, bethesda wasn't exactly hiding that they preferred xbox over playstation, they outright said it multiple times...and now they're owned by xbox

We had to wait a year for PS3 version. I must say, I never crashed once though. I played it at launch on PC and even with the quick load times, day 1 was glitchy as hell and I had to make sure to double save for corruption each dungeon. Mostly the Oblivion gates had some lighting bug in the lava or somewhere on certain cards that caused crashes. The same thing happened with post Doom 3 patches when flashes from. The shotgun, etc.

In any case, the year delay was a big sad in the PS community. It was a thing back then. Granted, all my friends were Playstation fans. The only people that got 360s that I knew was my brother and sports/fps gamers.

And yes, I had Morrowind for PC, but I had it on Xbox first. The DDE sucked, but I played that bastard hundreds of hours anyway.

So after that lucky x100 exp, I decided to go get the secret jobs before continuing onto chapter 3.

I beat the archmagus and starseer fairly easily. Tried the warmaster. Couldn't do it. So I'm gonna go get the runemaster before trying that one again.

That last gauntlet of bosses before the true was ok but having to go through it again just because one character was not set up perfectly was a pain.

One you get the Runemaster, the warmaster is super easy. BTW, Tressa is one of the best characters in the game as Runemaster.

Got the last 2 secret jobs, and got to the final boss of Ophelia's story, who was my starting character, so I'm pretty sure once I beat that I can switch her out right?

Which is a shame, because the lore dump surrounding the true final boss is actually pretty interesting. It just wasn't a good idea to present it as a bunch of exposition-rich signs to read instead of integrating it properly into the gameplay and main story, especially not gated behind a couple of sidequest chains that don't do anything to indicate that they're more important than other sidequests.

Spot on. I just finished the game myself and loved it, but the fact that the "real" boss was optional and poorly integrated into the stories of the characters was disappointing. Not to mention the final gauntlet (which is really just a timewasting measure when you consider how easy it is at that point) and the 2 party battle being incredibly annoying.

Yep. Much like Bravely Default, it's a game that's really frustrating because there are a lot of good ideas there and the overall experience is pretty decent, but it's held back by a handful of very poor writing decisions (in BD's case, pretty much everything between the first half of the story and the ending).

Completed Ophilia's story, so I was able to remove her from my party. Then I just did Olberic, Therion and Cyrus's chapter 3s. So I've complete a chapter 4, and half of the chapter 3s now lol

Correct.

Ohpelia and Olberic's stories are the first ones to finish IMO because you can get end-game quests for items that give you extra JP and EXP.

side quests!

And once you've done a solid chunk of the side quests, you'll get access to a quest chain that leads you to the true final boss and a lore dump that ties all the different storylines together. Don't feel bad about using a guide to tell you which quests to pursue, since it's not exactly intuitive.
