This incest angle falls flat, but the harem angle in general is definitely super cringe as it always is in every game or anime it comes up in, and is probably the only thing holding the games back from being a true classic for me.

Except Cold Steel 2 which would make that cut anyways lol.

The incest in Sky is 100% worse than the incest in Cold Steel, especially since it's mandatory. Was one of the main things I was annoyed by in Sky 1 (Sky 2 handles it better).

Agree with this. The angle that Sky took with this was still kind of bad, but more understandable since they were older. It's not like I can remember seeing this a lot in other games anyway. Cold Steel doing pretty much the same thing but having them be younger just made it worse. At least it was optional, though.

Its not just an anime thing though anime is less ashamed to bring it into the open than other stuff I guess. Id be surprised if incest isnt a top 10 fetish worldwide though. Its insanely popular

you still have to put up with her adoration whenever she's on screen, and rean's gang giving him shit for not humoring and encouraging her infatuation. it's definitely not a big focus, but that also prevents it from getting developed into something at least less bad. i guess there's also tita and agate whose relationship was definitely surrogate brother/sister until it wasn't. that started in 3rd though, or at least people kept teasing it then

yes, but "there's incest" wasn't catering in sky's case. actual mature writing at least made up for the uncomfortable scenario sky had; it's not a story of brother and sister, it's estelle and joshua, and they could've (and should've) told it with a different start. that's not marketing the game to degenerates. marketing the game to degenerates is having alisa fall on rean in the first hour of the game, an incestuous relationship that isn't developed beyond that root, minigames where you stare at underage character's bikinis, altina's fucking womb lock, loli dakimakuras, etc

I'm not reading any more of the topic since I'm still in the middle of my ToCS 1 playthrough, but I was disappointed to see them have Elise fawning over her adopted brother when they've already had an adopted brother and sister get become lovers earlier in the series. Seems like a strange well to go back to twice.
