A male who is constantly on the move, scrapping for supplies and barely getting by shouldn't be so bulky and heavy in the post apocalypse. A man of his build would need a minimum of 3000 calories daily to maintain that amount of bulk. No way he was eating that much when travelling across the country with Ellie.
