:) I got into MechWarrior and stuff a little earlier, so that's interesting because it is definitely why I love Gundam Wing. Stuff like that and Rise of the Robots, etc

I see it.

Looks like Kraven meets Man With No Name. I might give it a shot, but just that this exists is really cool to me. I get the impression that Miura was very close with many of his peers about manga, and that it is all deeply personal.

I think he mentioned something like that in an interview I read. So this is maybe a little look into something of the spirit behind Berserk, and where Berserk truly belongs in the world of manga.

Honestly tho, too, this brings me back to my roots with violent comics, especially ones with serious penciling. I'm not really a grimdark kinda guy, tbh. Like, I am and I'm not. I drew some grimdark a long time ago myself. And that's what this looks like to me. Haha. Guys yelling at each other and killing each other in the mud like ants. Usually when it comes to really violent and dark grimdark (lol, dark grimdrark), it ends up being boring for me.

Boring isn't the right word at all, but maybe you know what I mean. Clashes with me or something haha. But occasionally I love it, like Heavy Metal. Maybe Im a person who needs more story and frilly lights. Who knows.

But that being said, it's super interesting to me when something like Berserk can get me so invested in what's essentially a lot of grimdark in the mix. For example that I'm considering reading Blaster Knuckle and I'm forming this preconception of it. Actually I think I've come to develop a taste for grimdark character fantasy, or like a Conan meets Tarzan thing. (addendum: medieval military fiction)

Similar to Twin Peaks for getting me to watch a soap opera haha, and Berserk has some of that element as well. Now when I run into someone into their soap characters and grimdark lords, I might be in a better position to appreciate it. Image reminds me of Jojo's and Desert Punk. Also Hellsing, Trigun, etc. You can get really lost in the overlap, common influences, and influence of some of these things, and as a Lovecraft/Souls/general lore person, I'm super glad to give a little feedback. Is Berserk grimdark? Like Judge Dredd. Is Judge Dredd grimdark? Or are we talking more like 80's pulp comics? Like Sin City? Idk lol

Take. The Boys graphic novel vs the show. Both are shock value at best But the show actually has a decent narrative.

also. For the Sci-Fi and Metal music fans. Read and listen to Coheed and Cambria stuff. Music is great. Plus Claudio Sanchezs comics about the musics story is good. Set in a future of mild dystopia depending on the planet, plenty of Shocks. Twists. Like a mild Beserk

That's an interesting recommendation to me. I've wondered many times if I would enjoy Coheed & Cambria now. But, I feel like you need to go out and buy the physical albums. Like, idk. Coheed all online? Idk. I feel like listening to Coheed & reading like Dark Tower could be a really interesting dive. Just me tho

Violence is a topic, but Berserk is like... Well.. Violence: The Book lol. I know that isn't totally true and true gravitated away from that a little, but it's often kinda treated that way. Anyway, holy shit I had a lot of fun with Edge of Seventeen and Call Me. Deep water for me, as a childhood favorite. Never really sat down and listened to them like that before

plus. It goes from gangrape. Child murders. Suicide. To wiping whole planets out. To figuring out the galaxy is surrounded by dead souls
