We have our own Republican party now! It's made of people who left the most regressive, conservative party (UDI) to straight up be US republicans! They got the first majority on the first round of presidential election too!

• Kast was the presidential candidate. Among his government plan he included "animals and nature should pay for their right to live under their masters (humans)" and "people can be detained in places other than jails", straight out of Pinochet's book (literally).
• De La Carrera (congressman) is just downright insane, was actually "kicked" from the Republican party (but was still basically with them all the time) for spreading fake news and claiming(revealing) they were sent by Kast's campaign management, and recently punched the vicepresident of the chamber.
• Johannes Kaiser is allegedly the first incel congressman. He had a podcast or webshow or whatever where he made claims like "guys who rape ugly women should be given medals" and "I can't understand women voting for the left who ends up hurting them, it almost makes you question women sufferage". These are literal quotes, just translated.
• And let's not forget that recently a bill was being passed that forbids underage marriage. Republicans voted against it, because, and I quote, "if the girl is pregnant it denies the unborn baby the right to be born into a family". They literally voted in favor of forcefully marrying a pregnant 14 year old to her rapist, and defended that stance.

What began as a laudable cry for change ended up a hope chest. Chile would not only become an officially plurinational state but also would maintain a separate indigenous justice system, the rules for which were left undefined. Chileans would have the right to wholesome and culturally relevant food, whatever that meant.
