Why dont they just do a blanket knife ban and confiscation. You dont NEED anything more than a 2 inch steak knife for every day use anyway.

I'm sure we'll find this out at some point but I'm curious if they went with knives over guns because they lack access to guns or simply because knives are quieter. I believe they've said the victims appear to both be intentionally targeted and also random.

Seems to be the case. No word if it was gang orchestrated or not. Seems way too messy for it to he gang related.

Our police are pretty incompetent. Took Police 2 nights to find the Moncton shooter back in 2014, and he killed 2 RCMP officers.
Wonder how long RCMP will take this time if they even find them. :/

The problem is always that Canada is HUGE and perpetrators always have a head start. No one even knows at this point if they still have that black Rogue either.

Saskatchewan alone is over 2.5 times the size of the entire UK. Then you have to add in the possibility of Manitoba and Alberta and even BC and Ontario by now.

There's also no evidence they're even in the same vehicle that was first identified.

They were going into people's homes on the Reserve and attacking them while they slept. There's at least 13 crimes scenes.

seems like they have no idea so far. they have the same last name but I don't think they've even said if they're brothers or not. could have been kidnapped and forced to drive or something. if the other guy winds up dead we might never know

edit: actually one article someone posted does say they're brothers now that I read it

What I've been able to gather so far is that eyewitnesses believe the attackers were the brothers. Then there were sightings in other cities kinda far away from the event in question, then the younger brother was found dead back near where all the killings happened.

So it could be that they split up, younger brother went back because he thought he would be sheltered there and was killed. Could be that older brother was with someone who LOOKED like his younger brother, when younger brother was another victim. Could also be that there are a few people involved and the only ones known for certain are the older brother (still on the loose) and the younger brother (now dead).

I'm pretty sure those charges stem from the current ongoing killing spree. The article is not exactly clear about that, but I can't find any sources that say they've killed anyone before this.

Also, just got an emergency alert again. An individual armed with a knife (gee, wonder who there could be) just took off out of Wakaw, SK on Cemetary Road in a white truck.

That's less than an hour away from me.

I was supposed to be out in Wakaw today for work purposes. I've been sick so I took a sick day from work today. O_o

Myles Sanderson is now dead.

Seems that after police rammed him off the road and arrested him, they found drugs in the vehicle. He went into cardiac arrest and died. Prevailing thought is that after he was arrested, he downed a bunch of the drugs he had.

Media here are just saying it was self-inflicted injuries.
